CC RES 1979-007 RESOLUTION NO. 79-7 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO PALOS VERDES ADOPTING GUIDELINES FOR SIGNS IN THE PUBLIC RIGHT-OF-WAY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO PALOS VERDES DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Pursuant to Article IX, Chapter 6, Part 7, Section 9672, Subsection D of the Rancho Palos Verdes Municipal Code, the following guidelines for signs in the public right-of-way are adopted: The Director of Planning may approve sign permits for signs in the public right-of-way pursuant to the following guidelines: 1. Temporary directional signs a. Directional signs to a community event located in the City; no advertising signs. b. A temporary sign permit is required; no fee is required. Copy, design, number, location, length of time, and colors must be approved. c. Signs must be free-standing or attached to a City-owned directional sign and must be of substantial materials; for example, wood, metal, or heavy cardboard. d. Signs shall be as small and simple as possible. 2. Permanent subdivision identification signs a. Such signs shall meet the requirements of Section 9674, F. b. There shall be no interference with pedestrian or vehicular visibility. c. A permanent sign permit with appropriate fee is required.
