A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO
PALOS VERDES DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO LEVY AND COLLECT
ASSESSMENTS FOR FISCAL YEAR 1979-80 FOR A LANDSCAPING
MAINTENANCE DISTRICT (LANDSCAPE AND OPEN SPACE MAINTENANCE
DISTRICT NO.1)
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO PALOS VERDES DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City Council has found that landscaping maintenance of certain
areas within the City is necessary to preserve the environment and aesthetic beauty
of the City and it is in the general public interest, and therefore, pursuant to the
provisions of the Landscaping and Lighting Act of 1972 (part II of Division 15 of the
California Streets and Highways Code) has formed a Landscaping Maintenance Assessment
District and declares its intention to levy and collect assessments pursuant to said
Landscaping and Lighting Act of 1972. The specific improvements therefor are des-
cribed in Exhibit A on file in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Rancho
Palos Verdes and incorporated herein by this reference.
Section 2. The assessment district to be benefited by said improvements and to
be assessed to pay the costs and expenses thereof is known as "Landscape and Open
Space Maintenance District No.1" and is comprised of the area within Tract Map No .
32673, as more particularly described in Exhibit B, on file in the office of the City
Clerk of the City of Rancho Palos Verdes and incorporated herein by this reference.
Section 3. The City Council did heretofore adopt its Resolution No. 79-40
approving the Engineer's Report prepared and filed pursuant to the provisions of the
Landscaping and Lighting Act of 1972. Said report is on file in the office of the
City Clerk of the City of Rancho Palos Verdes, and reference is hereby made to said
report for a full and detailed description of the improvements, the boundaries of the
assessment district and any zones therein, and the proposed assessments upon assess-
able lots and parcels of land within the district.
Section 4. The City Council hereby gives notice that on June 5, 1979 at 7:30 p.m.
in the Council Chambers, City Hall, 30940 Hawthorne Boulevard, Rancho Palos Verdes,
California a hearing by the City Council will be held on the levy of the proposed
assessment in connection with Landscape and Open Space Maintenance District No. 1.
Section 5. The City Clerk shall give notice of the aforesaid time and date of
hearing by causing this Resolution of Intention to be published, posted and mailed
pursuant to the provisions of the Landscape and Lighting Act of 1972, and in particular
as provided in Sections 22552 through 22557, inclusive, thereof.
