CC RES 1980-026 RESOLUTION NO. 80-26 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO PALOS VERDES CALLING AND GIVING NOTICE OF THE HOLDING OF A SPECIAL ELECTION TO BE HELD IN SAID CITY ON TUESDAY, APRIL 29, 1980 FOR THE SUB- MISSION TO THE QUALIFIED VOTERS OF THE RIDGECREST RECREATION AND PARK DISTRICT A MEASURE RELATING TO THE ASSESSMENT FOR BEAUTIFICATION OF SAID AREA 11/ WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Rancho Palos Verdes desires to submit to the qualified electors of said City at a Special Municipal Election a measure relating to an assessment for the beautification of the Ridgecrest Recreation and Park District. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO PALOS VERDES, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That pursuant to the requirements of the laws of the State of California relating to General Law Cities within said State, there shall be, and there is hereby called and ordered held in the City of Rancho Palos Verdes, County of Los Angeles, State of California, on Tuesday, April 29, 1980, a special Municipal Election of the qualified electors of said Cit y for the purpose of submitting the following question, to wit: "Shall each property owner pay an equal share of expenses associated with the beautification of the Ridgecrest area of Rancho Palos Verdes in the amount of $40.00? This assessment is predicated on the difference between monies made available from the Los Angeles County Tax Board and budgeted expenses. " SECTION 2. That the ballots to be used at said election shall be, both as to form and matter contained therein, such as may be required b y law to be used thereat. SECTION 3. That the polls for said election shall be open at eight o'clock a.m. , of the day of said election and shall remain open continuously from said time until five o'clock p.m. of the same day when said y y s ld polls shall be closed, except as provided in Section 14301 of the Elections Code of the State of California. SECTION 4. Pursuant to Sections 1340-1352 of the California Elections Code, the election will be conducted entirely by absent voter ballots. The City Hall is hereby designated as the polling place pursuant to Section 1014 of the Elections Code. SECTION 5. That in all particulars not recited in this Resolution, said election shall be held and conducted as provided by law for holdin g municipal al elections in said City. SECTION 6. That notice of the time and place of holding said election is hereby given and the City Clerk is hereby authorized, instructed and directed to give such further or additional notice of said election in time, form and manner as required by law. SECTION 7. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this Resolution; shall enter the same in the book of original Resolutions of said City; and shall make a minute of the passage and adop- tion thereof in the records of the proceedings of the City Council of said City, in the minutes of the meeting at which the same is passed and adopted.
