The City Council of the City of Rancho Palos Verdes on July 3, 1979 adopted Resolution 79-64 entitled "A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO PALOS VERDES DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO VACATE A PORTION OF PALOS VERDES DRIVE EAST NORTH OF CALLE AVENTURA." Section 2. Notices of the proposed street vacation were duly posted in the manner and form and at the time required by Streets and Highways Code Section 8322. Section 3. The City Council of the City of Rancho Palos Verdes held a public hearing thereon Tuesday, September 4, 1979,- at the hour of 7:30 p.m. in the City Council Chambers located at the Palos Verdes Unified School District Building, located at- 30942 Hawthorne Boulevard, Rancho Palos Verdes, California, at which time said City heard all evidence offered by persons interested in the proposed vacation and no persons were present to protest same. Section 4. The City Council of the City of Rancho Palos Verdes heretofore determined in Resolution No. 79-64 that the public convenience and necessity require the reservation of easements and rights to construct, maintain, operate, replace, remove, renew and enlarge cables, wires, poles and other convenient structures, equipment and fixtures for the operation of telegraphic and telephone lines, cable television lines, and for the transportation or distribution of electric energy and hereby declares that these proceedings and the vacation of said public right of way on Palos Verdes Drive East north of Calle Aventura as herein above provided are sub- ject to such reservations and exception contained in said Resolution No. 79-64. Section 5. The City Council of the City of Rancho Palos Verdes does hereby find and determine that: 1. The subject Northeasterly twenty-five (25) feet of Palos Verdes Drive East was dedicated to the City in 1963 as a requirement for a Variance by Mr. Samuel G. Saltus. The dedication was designated for future street widening. 2. Current street standards for Palos Verdes Drive East indicate that no street widenings are planned and that said public right of way described in sub- section three (3) hereof is unnecessary for present or prospective public purposes and said public right of way is hereby vacated. 3. That portion of Palos Verdes Drive East north of Calle Aventura is described as: That portion of Palos Verdes Drive East, in Lot H. Rancho Los Palos Verdes, as shown on partition map filed in Case No. 2373 of the District Court of the 17th Judicial District of the State of California in and for the County of Los Angeles, in the City of Rancho Palos Verdes, County of Los Angeles, State of California described in that certain road deed to the County of Los Angeles recorded as Document No. 4518 on June 4, 1963, in Book D 2052, page 484, of Official Reocrds, in the office of the Registrar- Recorder of the County of Los Angeles. Section 6. The City shall cause a certified copy of the resolution and order to be recorded in the office of the Recorder of the County of Los Angeles.
