RANCHO PALOS VERDES CITY COUNCIL
Adjourned Regular Meeting
November 26, 1974
The meeting was called to order at 7:35 p.m. at the City Offices, 31244 Palos Verdes Drive
West, notice having been given with affidavit thereto on file.
PRESENT: Councilman Gunther Buerk, Francis D. Ruth, Robert E. Ryan, and
Mayor Marilyn Ryan
ABSENT: Councilman Ken Dyda
Councilman Dyda arrived at 7:45 p.m. and was present for the remainder
of the meeting.
Also present were City Manager Leonard G. Wood, Planning Director Sharon Hightower, and
Administrative Services Officer George Wunderlin.
ANIMAL CONTROL Mr. Steve Heller addressed the City Council
(104) regarding animal control enforcement in
Portuguese Bend. The City Manager was asked
to investigate the complaint.
GENERAL PLAN STATUS The Planning Director briefed the Council on
(701) the status of the General Plan and current
Planning items.
PLANNING STAFF INCREASE Following discussion, the City Council took
(1202) the following actions: (1) authorized the
addition of a Planning staff member to handle
current planning; (2) directed the City Manager to bring in planning fee increase recom-
mendations to offset costs for the position; (3) directed Staff to work with a subcommittee
of Planning Committee on equestrian rules and equestrian crossing on Palos Verdes Dr. East.
BUDGET INCREASE On motion of Councilman Dyda, seconded by
(602 x 1203) Councilman Ruth, and unanimously carried, the
Council authorized additional expenditures up
to $35,000 for General Plan and zoning studies.
NIKE SITE It was moved by Councilman Ryan, seconded by
(601) Councilman Dyda, and carried, to approve the
Nike Site study agreement.
COASTAL COMMISSION On motion of Councilman Dyda, seconded by
(309) Councilman Ruth, and carried, the Mayor was
authorized to attend the meeting of the
Government Powers & Funding Element of the
Coastal Commission on December 7, 1974 in San Francisco.
ADJOURNMENT At 11:35 p.m. , the meeting was adjourned on
motion of Councilman Dyda, seconded by
Councilman Ryan, and carried.
