Adjourned Regular Meeting
April 9, 1974
The meeting was called to order at 7:45 p.m. at the City Offices, 31244 Palos
Verdes Drive West, notice having been given with affidavit thereto on file.
PRESENT: Councilmen Gunther Buerk, Ken Dyda, Francis D. Ruth,
Robert E. Ryan and Mayor Marilyn Ryan
ABSENT: None
Also present were City Manager Leonard G. Wood, Administrative Services Officer
David Smith and Community Services Officer Doris Brown.
ORD. 27 ORDINANCE NO. 27 OF THE CITY OF RANCHO PALOS
BUSINESS LICENSING VERDES LICENSING THE TRANSACTION AND CARRYING
(202) ON OF CERTAIN BUSINESSES, TRADES, PROFESSIONS,
CALLINGS AND OCCUPATIONS FOR THE PURPOSE OF
RAISING MUNICIPAL REVENUE, PROVIDING A PENALTY
FOR VIOLATIONS THEREOF, RENUMBERING CERTAIN SECTIONS AND AMENDING THE MUNICIPAL
CODE was read by title, first reading having been given on April 2, 1974. Fol-
lowing discussion, it was moved by Councilman Dyda, seconded by Councilman Ruth,
that further reading be waived and the ordinance be adopted on the following
roll call vote:
AYES: Buerk, Dyda, Ruth, R. Ryan, M. Ryan
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
ORD. NOTIFICATION Council discussed methods already employed and
(307) some proposals for giving notice of anticipated
Council actions.
POSTAL SERVICES Councilman Buerk reported on Post Office Depart-
ment review of zip codes for the City, indicating
the likelihood of two for the Peninsula but where
we could use the City name throughout.
RECREATION - Discussing proposed disposal of three surplus
SCHOOL SITES (14 01) school sites, Council directed the City Manager
to investigate and report on options for pur-
chase as park sites, getting financial consultant
quotes, if necessary, etc. A report is to be
presented at the next meeting of Council.
EXECUTIVE SESSION At 9:45 p.m., Council adjourned to Executive
Session to discuss potential litigation, on
motion of Councilman Buerk, seconded by Council-
man Ryan. The meeting reconvened at 1:00 a.m.

FASHION CENTER (10 3) The City Council directed the City Manager to
write a letter to the Rolling Hills Estates
City Council requesting a reconsideration of
the vacation of Deep Valley Drive and the Environ-
mental Impact Report prepared for the project.
ADJOURNMENT At 1:15 a.m. , on motion of Councilman Ruth,
seconded by Councilman Dyda, the meeting was
adjourned.
