Ryan STREET NAME CHANGE Council received from the Planning Advisor a NARBONNE proposed procedure for requests for street name 1406 changes. Regarding the specific request for Narbonne, it was noted that the county had not taken action prior to incorporation of the city though some investigation had been undertaken. On motion of Councilman Buerk, seconded by Councilman Dyda and carried, Council approved the procedure outlined in the Planning Advisor's report and directed that the request regarding Narbonne be started at Step 2 in the procedure. PLANNING STAFF RECRUITMENT A report from Public Management Service regard- 1202 x 1203 ing recruitment of Planning Staff was presented by Acting City Manager Lee Weber and discussed by Council. It was agreed that further study and consideration was needed, with action postponed to November 1, on motion of Councilman Buerk, seconded by Council- man Dyda and carried. Oct. 24, 1973 Council 73-041 SEWER MAINTENANCE DISTRICT Council discussed request from County of Los RES. 49 1402 Angeles for consent and jurisdiction in annex- ing properties in the Sewer Maintenance District, postponed from last meeting. An oral report was given by Mayor Ryan and Engineer- ing Advisor Robert Moller, with further discussion of the possible effects of grant- ing blanket jurisdiction. RESOLUTION NO. 49 OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO PALOS VERDES GRANTING CONSENT AND JURISDICTION TO THE COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES FOR THE INCLUSION OF CERTAIN TERRITORY OF THE CITY OF RANCHO PALOS VERDES WITHIN A COUNTY SEWER MAINTENANCE DISTRICT was read by title, with the City Attorney noting that only Parcels 102-73, 107-73, 108-73, and 110-73 had been included. Further reading was waived and the resolution adopted on unanimous motion of Councilman Dyda, seconded by Councilman Ruth. ANIMAL CONTROL Councilman Buerk reported on his investigation 104 of law enforcement as it pertains to animal control, particularly the leash law and barking dogs. He noted that anyone having problems in this type of matter should call the Gardena office for Animal Control, 327-1171. GREAT LAKES LITIGATION Mr. R. K. Marohn informed Council that it was 103 his understanding that the Attonney General had been denied the temporary injunction against Great Lakes and requested Council consider what might be done by the City at this point. Council indicated they would discuss this in Executive Session with the regular City Attorney as soon as possible, perhaps at a special meeting next week, and see what avenues are available.
