Adjourned Regular Meeting
May 3, 1975
The meeting was called to order at 8:25 a.m. at the City Offices, 30940 Hawthorne
Boulevard, notice having been given with affidavit thereto on file. Roll call
was answered as follows:
PRESENT: Councilmen Gunther Buerk, Ken Dyda, Francis D. Ruth, Robert E.
Ryan and Mayor Marilyn Ryan
ABSENT: None
Also present were City Manager Leonard G. Wood, Planning Director Sharon Hightower,
Administrative Services Officer George Wunderlin, and Planning staff members,
Larry Davis and Gary Weber.
GENERAL PLAN Council discussed what its role should be in
reviewing the Draft Plan and the format to be
used.
Continued Council discussion included the following: policies to be identified
in the Land Use Element; whether an inclusion of a series of maps was necessary
in the Land Use section in order to properly identify various areas; the need
for correlation tables and consistency in nomenclature with regard to maps; ex-
panding natural resources narrative set out on page 10 of the Draft; and policy
statement regarding stability and suitability of land for development.
It was the consensus of Council that any specific land use recommendation coming
from the Goals Committee should be documented. At the same time, Council requested
the Goals Committee submit a memorandum regarding their ideas on zoning two units/
acre.
Council asked that staff assess comments presented and compile a report for the
May 7 meeting to include suggested format for reorganizing the Plan and recom-
mendation for development alternatives.
The Mayor asked those present to register their names and addresses so there would
be an attendance record for the work sessions.
ADJOURNMENT At 11:31 a.m. , it was moved, seconded and
carried to adjourn the meeting.
