RANCHO PALOS VERDES CITY COUNCIL
ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING
MARCH 19, 1977
The meeting was called to order at 9:00 A.M. , at the Palos Verdes Unified School
District, 30942 Hawthorne Boulevard, notice having been given with affidavit thereto
on file. Roll call was answered as follows:
PRESENT: COUNCILMEN: Dyda, Ruth and Mayor Ryan
LATE ARRIVAL: COUNCILMEN: Buerk
Also present were City Manager Leonard G. Wood, Community Services Officer Tom Bandy,
Community Services Intern Richard Payes, Parks and Recreation Director Mary Thomas,
Parks and Recreation Committee members Al Rosenthal (Chairman) , Larry Zamos,
Robert Gibson, and Jacqueline Mason.
NIKE SITE Following discussion, it was moved by
(1109) Councilman Dyda, seconded by Mayor Ryan
that a letter be sent to Los Angeles
County Supervisor James Hayes indicating the City's willingness to acquire the
lower Nike Site (Rifle Range) if the County cannot fund it during Fiscal Year
1977-78. The motion was carried unanimously.
Councilman Buerk moved to authorize the City Manager to send a letter of offer to
the G.S.A. covering the Nike Site. The motion was seconded by Councilman Ruth and
carried unanimously.
ADJOURNMENT: Councilman Buerk moved to adjourn the
meeting to March 29, 1977 at 12:00 noon
at City Hall. The motion was seconded by
Councilman Ruth and carried unanimously.
