CC MINS 19790612 ADJ M I N U T E S RANCHO PALOS VERDES CITY COUNCIL ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING JUNE 12, 1979 The meeting was called to order at 7:35 P.M. at the Palos Verdes Peninsula Unified School District Building, 30942 Hawthorne Boulevard, notice having been given with affidavit thereto on file. PRESENT: DYDA, HEIN AND MAYOR SHAW 11/ ABSENT: BUERK AND RYAN Also present were City Manager Leonard G. Wood, Administrative Services Officer George Wunderlin, Community Services Officer Tom Bandy and Administrative Assistant Trish Hanelin. PROPOSED FY 79-80 The City Manager presented a brief overview of BUDGET the budget. Each Department Head then briefed the Council on their Department's budget. Councilman Dyda suggested consolidating some departmental budget categories, but suggested that any expenditure representing 5% of the total departmental budget be itemized. CITY VEHICLES The Council requested that Staff prepare a study showing mileage and usage for the two City trucks. PARK & RECREATION The Park & Recreation Director was asked to delete BUDGET the budget item for a park sign machine until such time as a study and standards had been completed. He was also asked to do an analysis of various approaches to repairing or replacing the sprinkler system at Rancho Palos Verdes to determine if it would be better to renovate or replace the existing system. Councilman Dyda requested a summary of the Parks & Recreation budget showing how much of the expenditure budget is offset by user fees and what the real General Fund impact is. PARKS & RECREATION The Council requested that the amount budgeted for CAPITAL FUND design and development of the various park sites be lumped into one figure. II/ Council requested that the Eastview annexation portion of the budget be separated out and shown by account within departments. It was decided that the full Council would review the City's membership in various organizations. ADJOURNMENT At 11:20 P.M. Councilwoman Hein moved, seconded by Councilman Dyda, to adjourn the meeting to June 14, 1979 at 7:30 P.M. for a budget work session. The motion carried unanimously. . / ' 01 MAYOR LEONARD G.
