RANCHO PALOS VERDES CITY COUNCIL
ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING
MARCH 28, 1979
The meeting was called to order at 7:40 P.M. by Mayor Ken Dyda at the Palos Verdes
Unified School District Building. Following the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag,
roll call was answered_,as follows:
PRESENT: RYAN, BUERK, SHAW, HEIN & MAYOR DYDA
Also present were City Manager Leonard Wood, Administrative Assistant Trish Hanelin,
and Administrative Services Officer George Wunderlin.
Mayor Dyda introduced Ruth Benell, Executive Officer of LAFCO and Lieutenant Walt
Thurner representing the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, Lomita Station.
Also present in the audience were Bruce Langdon, Business Manager for the Palos
Verdes Library District, John Knickerbocker representing the Palos Verdes Unified School
District, Michi Takahashi, Administrative Assistant, LAFCO, Don Waymen representing
the City of Los Angeles, and Robert McCaman, representing County Supervisor James Hayes.
Annexation - Staff Overview City Manager Wood presented a report on the
Eastview annexation proposal.
After Council questions were answered, Ruth Benell gave a brief description of LAFCO
procedures.
The meeting was then opened to audience questions and comments. The following in-
dividuals spoke regarding the annexation: Patrick J. Hanlon, 3139 Dianora Drive;
Jeanette Mucha, 5538 Littlebow Road; Ray Wakeland, 28605 Gunter Road; Paul A. Christensen,
6317 Tarragon; Mary Ann Lakatos, 4005 Via Vico; Harold E. Savage, 2143 Toscanini Drive; L
James K. Lee, 28874 Crestridge Road; Phil Kennedy, 30300 Oceanaire; Elza Cortes,
39681 Highpoint Road, and Frank R. Grieppe, 3505 Coolheights Drive.
ADJOURNMENT: At 10:35 P.M. Councilman Ryan moved, seconded
by Councilwoman Hein and unanimously carried
to adjourn the meeting to a special budget work session at 8:00 A.M. March 31 at
Marymount College.
