CC MINS 19800710 ADJ MINUTES RANCHO PALOS VERDES CITY COUNCIL ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING WORK SESSION JULY 10, 1980 The meeting was called to order at 7:40 P.M. by Mayor Barbara Hein at the Palos Verdes Unified School District Building, 30942 Hawthorne Boulevard, notice having been given with affidavit thereto on file. Roll call was answered as follows: PRESENT: RYAN, SHAW, BACHARACH, DYDA & MAYOR HEIN ABSENT: NONE Also present were Acting City Manager Sharon Hightower. Representing Prima & Associates were Bette David, Bob Hall and David Alpaugh. Councilwoman Bacharach requested that discussion of Abalone Cove Beach Park be added to the agenda. The amended agenda was approved on motion of Councilman Dyda, seconded by Councilman Ryan and carried. CIVIC CENTER PLANNING - Bette Davis presented Prima's Report GENERAL MAINTENANCE - FULL No. 2 regarding space requirements for SERVICE a full service civic center. Councilwoman Shaw moved, seconded by Councilman Dyda that provisions for general maintenance full service facilities be deleted from the plan. The motion carried. Councilman Dyda moved, seconded by Councilwoman Bacharach, and carried that the site plan space be increased so it can accommodate substantial increases if general main- tenance areas expand in future contract services. COSTS & PLANNING City Manager's Office - 300 ft. Councilwoman Shaw moved, seconded by Councilwoman Bacharach to maintain the City Manager's office at 300 ft. The motion carried three - one with Mayor Hein voting in opposition. (Councilman Ryan had stepped out of the meeting room for a few minutes.) Council discussed the cost report presented by Prima; it was the consensus of Council that these cost estimates should be realistic so decisions can be made on what is affordable. ABALONE COVE BEACH PARK (306) Concern was expressed regarding recent news- paper publicity on the City's efforts to negotiate the purchase of the park. Council then discussed the sub-committee's meeting to be held on Friday with County representatives; Councilwoman Shaw moved, seconded by Councilman Ryan to establish a policy whereby members of Council may observe at any time other subcommittee meet- ings. The motion carried. RECESS TO EXECUTIVE SESSION At 10:39 P.M. on motion of Councilman Ryan, seconded by Councilwoman Shaw, and carried Council recessed to executive session to discuss personal matters. RECONVENE AND ADJOURNMENT At 11:10 P.M. on motion of Bacharach and Ryan Council reconvened with no action taken and immediately adjourned to Tuesday, July 15th at 6:30 P.M. for an executive session to discusss pending litigation. illit,■— c MAYOR SHARON W.
