CC MINS 19800616 ADJ M I N U T E S RANCHO PALOS VERDES CITY COUNCIL ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING JUNE 16, 1980 The meeting was called to order at 7:40 P.M. by Mayor Barbara Hein at the Palos Verdes Unified School District Building, 30942 Hawthorne Boulevard, notice having been given with affidavit thereto on file. Roll call was answered as follows: PRESENT: RYAN, BACHARACH, DYDA & MAYOR HEIN 11/ LATE ARRIVAL: SHAW @ 7:49 P.M. Also present were Acting City Manager Sharon W. Hightower, Administrative Services Officer George Wunderlin, Director of Public Works Maynard Crowther, Director of Parks & Recreation Maynard Law and Administrative Assistant Julie Christensen. RJA CONTRACT Councilman Dyda moved, seconded by Mayor (302) Hein to extend the contract for Roy Jorgensen & Associates for an additional 30 days beyond the end of the current agreement under current terms not to exceed $4629 per week: within this time, the contract will be reviewed by the Contract Subcommittee and they are to report back to the Council with recommendations. The motion carried unanimously. HAWKSMOOR PEDESTRIAN EASEMENT Councilwoman Shaw moved, seconded by (450) Councilwoman Bacharach to adopt the staff recommendation as outlined in the June 4, 1980 memorandum and implement the suggested measures designed to eliminate usage of the pathway and that a report be made to Council after six months. The motion carried. PARKS & RECREATION Councilwoman Shaw moved, seconded by Council- CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS man Ryan, to take money budgeted towards (602 x 1201) Del Cerro, put it towards Hesse Park and have the Director of Parks & Recreation take this to the architect and see what we can get for this amount. The motion carried on a four - one vote with Mayor Hein voting in opposition. Councilwoman Bacharach moved, seconded by Councilman Dyda, that the trails standard study be completed by the Planning Commission by the end of the year and that they elicit the expertise of the Parks & Recreation subcommittee on trails. The motion carried on a three - two vote with Councilmembers Shaw and Hein voting in opposition. Councilman Ryan moved, seconded by Councilwoman Bacharach to adopt the June 4th, 1980 proposed revision of the Parks & Recreation program as revised. The motion carried. AGREEMENT WITH AMERICAN GIRL Councilman Dyda moved, seconded by Council- woman Bacharach, to have the Mayor give staff the total number of pages xeroxed for City Manager recruitment. The motion carried on a three - two vote with Councilmembers Hein and Ryan voting in opposition. Councilwoman Shaw moved, seconded by Councilman Ryan to adopt the proposed changes to the budget.
