CC MINS 19800514 ADJ M I N U T E S RANCHO PALOS VERDES CITY COUNCIL ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING MAY 14, 1980 The meeting was called to order at 6:17 P. M. by Mayor Barbara Hein at the Palos Verdes Unified School District Building, 30942 Hawthorne Boulevard, notice having been given with affidavit thereto on file. Roll call was answered as follows: II/ PRESENT: RYAN, SHAW, BACHARACH, DYDA & MAYOR HEIN ABSENT: NONE Also present were.Acting City Manager Sharon W. Hightower and Parks & Recreation Director Maynard Law. REQUEST FROM ABALONE COVE Referring to the May 7, 1980 letter to HOMEOWNERS PROTECTIVE Supervisor Burke from the Abalone Cove ASSOCIATION (1801) Homeowners Protective Association, Councilman Dyda moved, seconded by Councilwoman Shaw, to approve the staff recommendation and authorize the Mayor to send a letter to Supervisor Burke supporting this request for installation of temporary wells in the Abalone Cove Beach area. The motion carried unanimously. ABALONE COVE BEACH PARK Council reviewed the recommendations (109 x 1201) of the ad hoc task force as outlined in the City Manager's May 14th memo- randum and discussed all aspects of the proposal. Councilwoman Shaw moved, seconded by Councilman Ryan and unanimously carried to authorize the subcommittee to raise the following six points and open negotiations with the appropriate people in the County: (1) Install temporary de-watering wells; (2) Provide the proposed temporary parking lot and trail; (3) repair the fences; (4) Repair the access road to provide for emergency access; (5) Provide that all utilities and sanitary facil- ities are functioning; and (6) Continue to provide lifeguard services. Addition- ally, that numbers 1 and 6 are non-negotiable, but numbers 2 through 5 are nego- tiable. MEETINGS, CONFERENCES & Acting City Manager Hightower summarized MILEAGE EXPENSES FOR 1979-80 the staff memorandum of May 13, 1980 (602) which contained a review of the meetings, ' conferences and mileage expense accounts for fiscal 1979-80. Councilwoman Shaw moved, seconded by Councilwoman Bacharach to authorize the addi- tional expenditure of $4,850.00. The motion carried on the following roll call vote: AYES: RYAN, SHAW, BACHARACH, DYDA & MAYOR HEIN NOES: NONE ADJOURNMENT: At 7:30 P. M. Councilman Ryan moved, seconded by Councilman Dyda to adjourn to 5:30 P. M. May 20th, for an executive session on personnel matters.
