RANCHO PALOS VERDES CITY COUNCIL/HOUSING COMMITTEE
ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING
JULY 8, 1981
The meeting of the Planning Commission and the City Council sitting as the Housing
Committee was called to order by Chairman Hughes at 7:36 P.M. notice having been given
with affidavit thereto on file. Roll call was answered as follows:
PRESENT: Commissioners Baer, Hinchliffe, McTaggert, Hughes
Councilmembers Dyda, Hein, Shaw and Mayor Bacharach
LATE ARRIVAL: Commissioner Brown @ 8:28 P.M.
Councilmember Shaw @ 8:05 P.M.
Also present were Director of Planning Sharon W. Hightower, Associate Planner Ann
Negendank, City Attorney Patrick Coughlan, Councilmembers Dyda, Hein, Shaw (8:05 P.M.)
and Mayor Bacharach.
It was the consensus of Council to discuss the matter of the Montemalaga Median prior
to the Housing study.
MONTEMALAGA MEDIAN Councilman Dyda moved, seconded by
(1502) Councilwoman Hein to conduct a traffic
count survey for left turns from
Montemalaga Drive onto Silver Spur and to lenghthen the left turn pocket as required for
safety as a result of that traffic count at a cost not to exceed $2,000. The motion
carried on the following roll call vote:
AYES: DYDA, HEIN, SHAW, & MAYOR BACHARACH
NOES: NONE
ABSENT: RYAN
Mayor Bacharach moved, seconded by Councilwoman Hein to authorize shortening the
median by 10 feet at a cost not to exceed $1,000. The motion carried on the following
roll call vote:
AYES: HEIN, SHAW, DYDA & MAYOR BACHARACH
NOES: NONE
ABSENT: RYAN
Councilwoman Shaw moved, seconded by Councilman Dyda and carried to proceed according
to the engineer's plans and remove the sidewalk and replace with plantings.
CITY COUNCIL MEETING It was the consensus of Council to hold
the July 27th closed meeting at 6:00 P.M.
in the City Manager's Office.
HOUSING ELEMENT - DRAFT WORKING The Housing Committee discussed the
PAPERS - POSSIBLE PROGRAMS possible programs and made revisions and
(1203) additions.
It was the consensus that the July 13th meeting will be used to discuss programs in more
detail.
ADJOURNMENT At 10:21 P.M. the meeting was adjourned
to July 11th, at 8:00 A.M. on motion of
Councilman Dyda, seconded by Councilwoman Hein and carried.
