ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING
RANCHO PALOS VERDES CITY COUNCIL
JULY 2, 1981
The meeting was called to order at 7:30 P.M. by Mayor Jacki Bacharach at the Palos
Verdes Unified School District Building, notice having been given with affidavit
thereto on file. Roll call was answered as follows:
PRESENT: DYDA, RYAN, SHAW & MAYOR BACHARACH
ABSENT: HEIN
Planning Commissioners Baer, Brown and Hughes were also present. Commissioner
Hinchliffe arrived at 7:36 P.M. and McTaggert at 8:00 P.M.
Also present was the Director of Planning Sharon W. Hightower and Associate
Planner Ann Negendank.
HOUSING ELEMENT AMENDMENT C 7 0 1) (1) Working Paper No. 6 - Vacant
Property - Council discussed
the paper and staff was instructed to make some revisions. Items to be added are:
in the School District section, a sentence on declining enrollment, potential surplus
sites, and the total number of sites; inclusion of capacity of service systems for
all vacant land.
(2) Working Paper No. 7 - Special Housing Needs - Various revisions are to be made
by staff. A general disclaimer on all data sources is to be made on Page 1, as well
as in a separate section which staff is to prepare. Also, SCAG will be identified by
name.
Staff will prepare and/or organize the material in the City model of needs allocation.
(3) Working Paper - Policy Direction - Policies are to be added on condominium
conversion and encouraging low-intensity rentals. A section is to be added on the
additional costs to residents, such as school bussing, cable television, trash collection,
etc.
ADJOURNMENT: At 10:40 P.M. the meeting adjourned on
motion of Councilman Dyda, seconded by
Councilwoman Shaw and carried.
