the change is made.
Several residents of the area inquired about the school district arrangement:
if Eastview will become part of the Palos Verdes Unified School District; what
part the City would take in the process to have the schools transferred to the
Peninsula District; if that area would be taxed both for the Los Angeles
School District and the Palos Verdes District; what is the process for trans-
ferring students to the Palos Verdes School District; the possibility of
circulating a petition supporting the transfer of the area to the Palos Verdes
School District; and what the position of the Palos Verdes School District

Dodell who explained in detail from the State Education Code the lengthy
process for making the Eastview area part of the Palos Verdes Unified School

requested that the resident forward a copy of that notice to staff so inquiry
could be made on this matter.
In response to a resident's inquiry, Captain Emerson of the Lomita Sheriff's
Station explained that the residents would no longer have to call the Highway
Patrol to report an accident, they would simply have to call the Sheriff's
Department.
ZIP CODE Responding to a resident's inquiry about zip
codes, Mayor Ryan explained that a letter would
be written to the Postmaster requesting that Eastview be given the same number
as the rest of the City; in the meantime, residents should continue to use
their present zip code.
