CC MINS 19840821 ADJM I N U T E S RANCHO PALOS VERDES CITY COUNCIL /TRANSIT ADVISORY COMMITTEE ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING AUGUST 21, 1984 The Meeting was called to order at 6:00 P.M. by Mayor Jacki Bacharach notice having been given with.affidavit thereto on file. PRESENT: COUNC ILMEMBER HINCHL IFFE , McTAGGART , & MAYOR BACHARACH TRANSIT ADVISORY COMMITTEE: BLUE, S IDLEY , RU BIN , ROTH, DICKINSON ABSENT: COUNCILMEMBERS HUGHES & RYAN Also present were Public Works Director Gordon Siebert, Contract Manager Manual Gomez, City Clerk Jo Lofthus, and City Manager Donald F. Guluzzy. Additionally, present were the following individuals: Rolling Hills Estates City Manager Harry Peacock, and John Barbati, Vice President of Transit Contractors. RECOMMENDED CHANGES TO RPV TRANSIT SERVICES Director Siebert presented the August 21, 1984 containing the Committee's recommen- dations. The Committee discussed the recommendations and approved as presented with the following exceptions: Starting times remain at 7:00 A.M. weekdays, and 9:00 A.M. on weekends. Fares should be raised to $1.00 during peak hours (7:00 A.M. - 8:30 A.M. and 1:30 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. Monday through Friday, and to 751 off peak hours* Rolling Hills Estates City Manager Peacock summarized his City's desire to coordinate transit services with Rancho Palos Verdes: both cities will offer the same service, including a joint service area, hours of service, fares, dispatching and even vehicle style. Rolling Hills Estates will pay for one -fifth of the service hours and one -fifth of the administrative costs. Rancho Palos Verdes will be the lead agency for the general public response demand transit services. Rolling Hills Estates will remain as lead agency for the Dial -A -Ride Program for seniors and handicapped. It was the consensus that the Council Subcommittee should approach the City of Palos Verdes Estates and give them the opportunity to join in this joint program. RECESS TO CLOSED SESSION At 7 :21 P.M. Council recessed to Closed Session to discuss pending litigation.
