ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING /COMMUNITY LEADER BREAKFAST
JUNE 99 1984
The meeting was called to order at 8:00 A.M. by Mayor Jacki Bacharach, notice
having been given with affidavit thereto on file.
PRESENT: McTAGGART, HINCHLIFFE, RYAN, & MAYOR BACHARACH
ABSENT: HUGHES
Also present were City Manager Donald F. Guluzzy, Community Services Director
Tom Bandy, Community Services Secretary Darlene Davison, Public Works Director
Charles Abbott, and City Clerk Jo Lofthus.
Mayor Bacharach welcomed all in attendance at the meeting. Self - introductions
then followed.
After opening remarks by Mayor Bacharach describing various City programs and
departments, an informal discussion ensued regarding the following items:
"Trimming trees on private property to protect views;
*Erecting walls along major arterials;
*The effects of the Jarvis proposition;
*With regard to the increase in street sweeping, the suggestion was made
that cardboard signs be supplied to some of the homes associations to
announce the sweeping schedule;
°A request was made by a member of the audience that the City follow -up
with the Post Office to insure proper delivery of mail in the Eastview
area;
*An inquiry was made about the scheduling of cable TV service in the East -
view area;
*Also suggested was the possibility of adopting an ordinance prohibiting
the parking of recreational vehicles on City streets ;
'With regard to the request made for meeting places for the handicapped, it
was suggested that they pursue this matter with the School District.
*The effects of eliminating parking on Hawthorne Boulevard at Rolling Hills
High School on the surrounding area;
°A resident of Armaga Springs Road inquired if that road would be repaired
now that development has been completed in that area;
*Illegal dumping in the Malaga Canyon area;
°A representative of the Sierra Club requested City support for a State
park at the White Point area near Western and Paseo Del Mar.
At the conclusion of the discussion, Councilman Hinchliffe summarized the
City's action to -date in remedying the conditions in the landslide area.
