A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
RANCHO PALOS VERDES SUMMARILY VACATING EXCESS
RIGHTS -OF -WAY LOCATED AT THE NORTHEAST AND
SOUTHEAST CORNERS OF THE INTERSECTION OF
SAN CLEMENTE PLACE AND SAN CLEMENTE DRIVE AND
WESTERLY OF SAN CLEMENTE DRIVE AT ITS TERMINUS
OF SAN CLEMENTE PLACE
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO PALOS VERDES HEREBY RESOLVES , FINDS
AND DETERMINES AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: Those excess rights -of -way located at the northeast and
southeast corners of the intersection of San Clemente Place and San Clemente
Drive and westerly of San Clemente Drive at its terminus of San Clemente
Place in the City of Rancho Palos Verdes as shown on the attached Exhibit "A"
and described as:
That portion of San Clemente Drive, as shown on map of Tract
No. 38848, in the City of Rancho Palos Verdes, County of Los Angeles, State
of California, filed in Book 1017, pages 8 to 14 inclusive, of Maps, in the
office of the Registrar - Recorder of said County, within the following
described boundaries:
Beginning at the northerly terminus of that certain course of North
5 000105" East 49.36 feet in the easterly boundary.of Lot 98, said Tract;
thence northerly in a direct line to the southerly terminus of that certain
147 foot radius curve in the easterly boundary of said lot; thence southerly,
southwesterly and southeasterly along the easterly, southeasterly and north-
easterly boundaries of said lot and following the same in all its various
courses and curves to the point of beginning.
That portion of San Clemente Place, as shown on map of above men-
tioned tract, within the following described boundaries:
Commencing at the easterly terminus of that certain course
of North 84 °59'55" West 75.44 feet in the northerly boundary
of Lot 95, said tract, said easterly terminus being the begin-
ning of a curve concave to the southeast, tangent to said
certain course and having a radius of 18.83 feet; thence
southwesterly along said curve through a central angle of
44 °48' 42" a distance of 14.73 feet to the beginning of a
reverse curve concave to the north and having a radius of
50 feet; thence southwesterly, westerly and northwesterly
along said reverse curve through a central angle of 89 °13'37"
a distance of 77.87 feet to the beginning of a reverse curve
concave to the southwest and having a radius of 20 feet, said
last mentioned reverse curve being tangent at the westerly
terminus thereof to a line parallel with and 30 feet southerly,
measured at right angles, from the center line of San Clemente
Place, as shown on said map; thence northwesterly along said
last mentioned reverse curve 3.82 feet to a point in the north-
westerly boundary of said lot, said point being the true point

of beginning; thence continuing northwesterly along said last
mentioned reverse curve 11.68 feet to said parallel line; thence
westerly along said parallel line 8.01 feet to the beginning
of a curve concave to the southeast, having a radius of 20 feet,
tangent to said parallel line and tangent to the northerly pro-
longation of the straight line in the westerly boundary of Lot 1,
said tract; thence westerly, southwesterly and southerly along
said last mentioned curve 31.42 feet to said northerly prolonga-
tion; thence southerly along said northerly prolongation to said
straight line; thence northerly and northeasterly along the
westerly and northwesterly boundaries of said Lot 1 and the north-
westerly boundary of said Lot 95 to said true point of beginning.
That portion of above mentioned San Clemente Place, within the
following described boundaries:
Commencing at the easterly terminus of that certain course of
North 84 °59'55" West 74.93 feet in the southerly boundary of
Lot 97, above mentioned tract, said easterly terminus being
the beginning of a curve concave to the northeast, tangent to
said certain course and having a radius of 17.60 feet; thence
northwesterly along said curve through a central angle of
45 °14'23" a distance of 13.90 feet to the beginning of a
reverse curve concave to the south and having a radius of
50 feet; thence northwesterly, westerly and southwesterly
along said reverse curve through a central angle of 89 °39'18"
a distance off 78.24 feet to the beginning of a reverse curve
concave to the northwest and having a radius of 20 feet, said
last mentioned reverse curve being tangent at the westerly
terminus thereof to a line parallel with and 30 feet northerly,
measured at right angles, from above mentioned center line of
San Clemente Place; thence southwesterly along said last
mentioned reverse curve 3.82 feet to a point in the south-
westerly boundary of said lot, said point being the true
point of beginning; thence continuing southwesterly along
said last mentioned reverse curve 11.68 feet to said parallel
line; thence westerly along said parallel line 8.07 feet to
the beginning of a curve concave to the northeast, having a
radius of 20 feet, tangent to said parallel line and tangent
to the southerly continuation of that certain 193 foot radius
curve in the westerly boundary of Lot 61, said tract; thence
westerly, northwesterly and northerly along said 20 foot radius
curve 30.95 feet to said southerly continuation; thence north-
erly along said southerly continuation to said certain 193 foot
radius curve; thence southerly and southeasterly along the
westerly and southwesterly boundaries of said Lot 61 and the
southwesterly boundary of said Lot 97 to said true point of
beginning.

Section 2: The City Council has considered the General Plan of the
City of Rancho Palos Verdes and finds the excess rights -of -way vacation to
be in conformity with said General Plan.
Section 3: Pursuant to Section 2381 of the Streets and Highways
Code of the State of California, the City Council finds and determines the
excess rights -of -way hereby vacated are not useful as a nonmotorized
transportation facility.
Section 4: The excess rights -of -way described in Section 1 were
dedicated to the City of Rancho Palos Verdes by Tract Map No. 38848 recorded
on May 12, 1983 as a part of San Clemente Place. The street was sub-
sequently redesigned to eliminate a turn - around which created the excess
rights -of -way hereby vacated. The City Council finds and determines that
the excess rights -of -way hereby vacated have never been used or developed
for street or highway purposes, are not needed for street or highway pur-
poses and are excess rights -of -way.
Section 5: The City Council finds that there are no in -place
public utility facilities in the vacated portion of said excess rights -of-
way that are in use and will be affected by the vacation.
Section 6: The City Clerk shall cause a certified copy of this
resolution, attested by the City Clerk under seal, to be recorded in the
office of the County Recorder of Los Angeles County.
Section 7: From and after the date of recordation of this resolu-
tion the excess rights -of -way described in Section 2 shall no longer consti-
tute an easement for street or highway purposes.
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED March 5, 1985.
