CC RES 1986-021RESOLUTION NO. 86- 21 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO PALOS VERDE S AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO SUBMIT AN OFFER TO PURCHASE SURPLUS FEDERAL PROPERTY AT 30942 HAWTHORNE BOULEVARD WHEREAS, the City has planned and is using the entire area known as 30940 and 30942 Hawthorne Boulevard for Civic Center and park use. WHEREAS, the City has allocated monies in its Capital Budget to acquire the property known as 30942 Hawthorne Boulevard. WHEREAS, the City of Rancho Palos Verdes is a political subdivision of the State of California, and as such, is required by the General Services Administration (GSA) under 40 U.S.C. 484 (e) (3) (H) to adopt such a reso- lution. NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Rancho Palos Verdes does hereby resolve as follows: Section 1: The City Council empowers and authorizes the Mayor to sign on behalf of the City of Rancho Palos Verdes in the purchase of this prop- erty and to submit to GSA an Offer to Purchase by the City of Rancho Palos Verdes for Four Hundred Thousand Two Hundred Six Dollars ($400,206) certain surplus Federal real property located at 30942 Hawthorne Boulevard., Rancho Palos Verdes, known as the District Building, and more fully described in an Attachment to the Offer to Purchase. Section 2: The amount of Forty Thousand Twenty Dollars ($40,020) is hereby authorized to be paid to GSA as an earnest money deposit with the Offer to Purchase. Section 3: The amount of Three Hundred Sixty Thousand One Hundred Eighty Six Dollars ($360,186) is hereby set aside for payment to GSA when requested. Section 4: The monies for the purchase of said property are to be paid from Project No. 57600.
