A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
RANCHO PALOS VE RDES DENYING THE APPEAL OF HEIGHT
VARIATION N0, 461 THEREBY APPROVING THE PROJECT
AT 2080 DORADO DRIVE
WHEREAS, the Director of Environmental Services approved Height Varia-
tion No. 461 for a two -story residence located at 2080 Dorado Drive; and
WHEREAS, on September 10, 1986, Mrs. Leroy Fas s filed an appeal to the
Planning Commission within 15 days of the decision of the Director of Envi-
ronmental Services; and
WHEREAS, on October 12, 1986, the Planning Commission considered the
appeal of Height Variation No. 461 at which time all interested parties
were given an opportunity to be heard and present evidence; and
WHEREAS, Dr, and Mrs. Leroy Fas s appealed the Planning Commission ap-
proval of Height Variation 461 to the City Council within the 15 day appeal
period; and
WHEREAS, on January 19, 1987, the City Council reviewed the appeal and
determined that there was no merit for said appeal.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO PALOS VERDES
DOES HEREBY FIND , DETERMINE AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS.-
Section 1: The proposed structure is designed and situated in such a
manner as to minimize view obstruction, as the shape and pitch of the roof
are not in line with the principal, identifiable view and the height is ap-
proximately equal to or less than the pad elevation of the appellant's
property.
Section 2: The portion of the proposed residence over sixteen feet
high does not significantly impair the primary view from the properties
located at 2003 and 2015 Caddington Drive, as define in the City's Develop-
ment Code,
Section 3: The proposed structure is not located on a ridge or promon-
tory.
Section 4: The structure does not significantly impair a view or vista
from public property (parks, major thoroughfare, bikeways, walkways, eques-
trian trails, etc.) which has been identified in the City's general plan,
coastal plan or City- approved viewing areas.
Section 5: There is no significant cumulative impact caused by grant-
ing the application as the grade differentials between Dorado and Cadding-
ton are significant.

Section 6: For the above reasons . the City Council of the City of
Rancho Palos Verdes does hereby deny the appeal of Height Variation No. 461
and approve the project at 2080 Dorado Drive.
