A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
RANCHO PALOS VERDES DENYING THE APPEAL OF HEIGHT
VARIATION NO. 530 THEREBY APPROVING THE PROJECT
AT 2066 TRUDIE DRIVE.
WHEREAS, the Director of Environmental Services approved
Height Variation No. 530 for a two story addition located at 2066
Trudie Drive; and
WHEREAS, on April 4, 1988, Dan Goodrich filed an appeal with
the Planning Commission within 15 days of the decision of the
Director of Environmental Services.
WHEREAS, on June 28, 1988, the Planning Commission denied the
appeal, thereby upholding staff approval of the proposed project;
and
WHEREAS, on July 13, 1988, Dermont and Susan McGettigan filed
an appeal with the City Council within 15 days of the decision of
the Planning Commission; and
WHEREAS, on September 20, 1988, the City Council heard the
appeal at which time all interested parties were given an
opportunity to be heard and present evidence.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO PALOS
VERDES DOES HEREBY FIND, DETERMINE AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS.

Section 1. That the proposed structure has been designed and
situated in such a manner as to minimize view obstruction by
placing the addition to the far west side of the existing
residence, yet maintaining the minimum 5 foot side yard setback.
Section 2: That any view impairment for the portion of the
proposed addition over sixteen feet high does not significantly
impair the primary view from 29412 Trotwood Avenue since city
lights would be removed by development to 16 feet and only a small
portion of mountain view would be impacted by the development
proposed above 16 feet.
Section 3: That the proposed structure is not located on a
ridge or promontory.
Section That the structure does not significantly impair a
view or vista from public property (parks, major thoroughfare,
bikeways, walkways, equestrian trails, etc.) which has been
identified in the City's General Plan, Coastal Specific Plan, or
City-approved viewing areas*
Section 5: That there is no significant cumulative impact
caused by granting the application*
Section 6.- That after consideration of the appeal of Height
Variation No. 530 on September 20, 1988, the City Council denied
the appeal and thereby approved the project at 2066 Trudie Drive.
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED on September 20, 1988.
