ADJOURNED TOWNHALL MEETING
SEPTEMBER 29, 1994
The meeting was called to order at 7:00 P.M. at the Fred Hesse
Community Park building by Mayor Kuykendall. Following the
Pledge of Allegiance to the flag, roll call was answered as
follows:
PRESENT: BROOKS, BYRD, LYON, McTAGGART AND MAYOR KUYKENOALL
ABSENT: NONE
Also present at the meeting were Assistant City Manager Pamela
Antil, Director of Public Works Trent Pulliam, Director of
Planning & Building Bret Bernard, Director of Finance Brent
Mattingly and Recreation Administrator Ron Rosenfeld.
After a brief overview regarding the format of the meeting, Mayor
Kuykendall introduced the staff members who would be making the
short presentation and answering audience questions.
PAVEMENT MANAGEMENT PLAN:
Director of Public Works, Trent Pulliam gave a short presentation
regarding the City's Pavement Management Plan.
AUDIENCE COMMENTS:
Responding to the Mayor's call for public comments for items of
interest were:
Rosemary Caterson, 26315 Basswood, regarding the Silver Spur road
construction project and other street maintenance issues.
F. Thrift, 29402 Quailwood, regarding the pavement management
plan charts presented by Mr. Pulliam.
Helen Coffey, 6828 Vallon Drive, regarding the flashing light
located on Hawthorne Boulevard at Vallon Drive and speeding
traffic on Hawthorne near Vallon.
Verdy Pieroni, 30509 Rue Langlois, regarding the City's code
enforcement program.
Sheila Hoff, Ambergate, regarding the funding for the
City's road improvement program, household hazardous waste and
emergency preparedness.
Kermit Olson, 30625 Rue Langlois, regarding the City's code
enforcement program.
Each of the speakers questions were addressed, however no formal
action was taken by the Council on the items that arose during
this portion of the agenda. In addition, Mayor Kuykendall
requested that the topic for one of the upcoming townhall
meetings be emergency preparedness.
ADJOURNMENT: At 8:06 P.M. the meeting adjourned on a motion of
Mayor Kuykendall.
