CC MINS 19960504MINUTES RANCHO PALOS VERDES CITY COUNCIL COMMUNITY LEADERS' BREAKFAST SATURDAY, MAY 49 1996 The meeting was called to order at 9:20 A.M. by Mayor Marilyn Lyon at the Fred Hesse Community Park, 29301 Hawthorne Boulevard, notice having been given with affidavit thereto on file. Present: MCTaggart, Ferraro, Hollingsworth, Byrd & Mayor Lyon Absent: None Also present were City Manager Paul Bussey, Assistant City Manager Brent Mattingly, City Clerk Jo Purcell, Senior Administrative Analyst Rick Otto, Recreation & Parks Director Ron Rosenfeld, Interim Public Works Director Joe Lopez, and Director of Planning, Building & Code Enforcement Carolynn Petru. After the Flag salute which was led by Mayor Pro Tem MCTaggart, self introductions followed. PRESENTATION OF PLAQUES Mayor Lyon presented plaques to the immediate past members of the various committees and commissions: Planning Commission: Nick Mowlds, Sonja Pedersen - Hayes, Kim Wang, and Councilwoman Ferraro; Traffic Committee: Arvid Von Nordenflycht, George Uraguchi, and Bruce Franklin; Recreation & Parks Committee: Andrew Bonacich, Marty Gamble, Tom Hollingsworth, Edward Kennedy, and Alan Weissman; View Restoration Commission: Jon Cartwright, Larry Clark, Paul Weisz, and Norman Eastwood; Finance Advisory Committee: Robert Moore, Leeza Hoyt Bray, Donald Hill, and Peter Von Hagen; Transit Advisory Committee: Andrea Adleman, Jacqueline Mathis, and Jean Longacre- Singh; and, Public Access Cable Television Committee: Mimi Horowitz and Rob Mack. PLANNING UPDATE Director Petru presented an overview of the status of major developments within the City: Kajima, Long Point, Pearl Ridge, Transamerica, Subregion 1 and Ocean Trails. . FINANCIAL UPDATE City Manager Bussey provided a summary of the City's financial status and explained the importance that the utility user tax played in the City's financial well - being. Additionally, his comments included a breakdown of the City's major expenditures and sources of revenues. INTERNET Mayor Lyon announced that the City now has its own Homepage on the Internet.
