A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF RANCHO PALOS VERDES UPHOLDING THE APPEAL OF
SITE PLAN REVIEW NO, 4734 THEREBY APPROVING THE
EXISTING SATELLITE DISH AT 5014 SILVER ARROW.
WHEREAS, on March 14, 1989, the Planning Commission approved
Site Plan Review No. 4734 subject to conditions. .
WHEREAS, on March 23, 1989, R.D. Wolfe filed an appeal with
the City Council within 15 days of the decision of the Planning
Commission.
WHEREAS, on May 2, 1989, the City Council heard the appeal at
which time all interested parties were given an opportunity to be
heard and present evidence.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO PALOS
VERDES DOES HEREBY FIND, DETERMINE AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: That there is no reasonable alternative location
for the satellite dish antenna that would provide reasonable
signal reception on the subject property at a height of sixteen
(16 ) feet or less.
Section 2: That the existing satellite dish antenna is
substantially screened from view from all adjacent properties
including the adjacent public street and sidewalk, and such
screening does not preclude reasonable reception.
Section 3+ That the overall height of the satellite dish
antenna does not exceed 19 feet above grade.
Section 4: That the existing satellite dish antenna is not
located within the required front or street side setback.
Section 5: That the existing satellite dish antenna is
.designed and situated in such a manner as to minimize view
obstruction as it does not significantly impact the view of the
Santa Monica Mountains from 27031 Diamondhead.
Section 6: That any view impairment for the portion of the
existing satellite dish antenna over sixteen feet high does not
significantly impair the primary view from 27031 Diamondhead which
was identified as having a view over the subject parcel as set
forth in the City's Development Code,
Section 7: That the proposed structure is not located on a
ridge or promontory.
Section 8: That the structure does not significantly impair
a view or vista from public property (parks, major thoroughfare,
bikeways, equestrian trail, etc.) which has been identified in the
City's General Plan, Coastal Specific Plan, or City- approved
viewing areas.
Section 9: That there is no significant cumulative impact
caused by granting the application.
Section 10: That after consideration of the appeal of Site
Plan Review No. 4734 on May 2, 1989, the City Council upheld the
appeal, subject to conditions of approval in Exhibit "A ", and
thereby approved the existing satellite dish antenna at 5014
Silver Arrow.
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED on May 16th, 1989.

EXHIBIT "A"
10 Existing vegetation on the property shall be maintained to
substantially screen the view of the dish from adjacent
public and private properties but shall not impact views.
2. A landscape covenant and agreement shall be recorded prior to
building final, limiting the height of vegetation to protect
views.
3* All required Building and Safety permits shall be obtained
and finaled within 60 days.
