A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITE
OF RANCHO PALOS VERDES APPROVING A NEGATIV9
DECLARATION FOR ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT NOO
590 AND ADOPTING THE PARKS MASTER PLAN.
WHEREAS, the City Council identified the need to update and
revise the existing Parks Master Plan for the City of Rancho Palos
Verdes and appointed an ad hoc citizen committee to prepare the

needed revisions, and
WHEREAS, the ad hoc committee conducted several public
meetings and workshops throughout 1989 and conducted a citizen
survey and needs assessment, to determine public park and
recreation wants and needs; and
WHEREAS, on October 3rd and 17th 1989, the City Council held
public hearings to review the revised plan prepared by the ad hoc
committee and the proposed Negative Declaration, at which time all

interested parties were invited to be present and give testimony.
NOW, THEREFORE THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO PALOS
VERDES DOES HEREBY DETERMINE AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1; That the project, as mitigated, will not have a
significant effect on the environment and that a Negative
Declaration is hereby issued.
Section 2: That the contents of the initial study for
environmental assessment no. 590 and the Negative Declaration were
considered prior to taking final action on the proposed Parks
Master Plan*
Section 3* That adoption of the proposed Parks Master Plan
will establish priorities for the acqusition, development and
maintenance of park sites within the City in a manner that
promotes the goals of the community and is consistent with the
General Plan.
Section 4.* The City Council of the City of Rancho Palos
Verdes hereby approves issuance of a Negative Declaration and
adopts the Parks Master Plan.
