the first phase 6f *a three phase salary control plan*
WHEREAS, the second phase of that plan was a'dopted'by
Resolution No. 88-42, and
WHEREAS, on June

Year budget containing the funds for all city personnel

PALOS VERDES'DOES HEREBY ' RESOLVE AS, FOLLOWS :
SECTION Z. The third phase to implement the control
points of all regular full-time and part-time Cit em to ees
are established as set forth in Exhibit" W# at"taciedc' V to-:
SECTION 2. '''This adjustment for ' the --co'nt'rol', point 'of
each classification will' be effective on July 1, 1989.
SECTION 3& This adjustment shall be awarded only to
employees who have been certified by their department
directors to be an employee in good standing and receiving at
least an overall satisfactory rating in fulfilling the
responsibilities outlined in their job description.
SECTION 4. The City Manager is authorized to award
merit increases of not more than 3% of the regular monthly
salary of regular full-time and part-time City employees.
Said salary increases shall be awarded only to City employees
who have been certified by the City Manager as * meriting the
increase, based upon appraisal6f department goalsf--
achievement records and periodic revie'w'of individual
perf ormance .

SECTION 6. For employees hired after July 1, 1989, the
City will pay the employee's: share of the contribution to
PERS for regular full-time and .part-,time employee's- :per the
following. schedule,,
(a) At.-the beginning,.gf an. employee's .second
year of con tinuous employment, the City will pay 20 of
the employee's contribution to PERS.
b) At, the , beg inning of an employee's third I year .of,.,,
continuous employment the City will pay 4% of the
employee's contribution .to..PERS,,
(c) At the beginning of an employee's fourth year
of continuous.- service . the ,City will pay ,7% of the,
employee's contribution to PERS. are
SECTION 7. Effective July 11 198§r those: employees: (10)-,-,
who already receive the above benefits (because they were
either hired prior to-Marc4,4986 and/ox-previously eleqted
to have the City pay .their,PERS.-contribution,,in lieu .pfa
salary increase), they will receive an additional 3%
longevity increase.
