A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF RANCHO PALOS VERDES DECLARING ITS INTENTION
TO LEVY AND COLLECT ASSESSMENTS FOR FISCAL
YEAR 1989 -1990 FOR A LANDSCAPING MAINTENANCE
DISTRICT (LANDSCAPE AND OPEN SPACE MAINTENANCE
DISTRICT N0. 2)
The City Council of the City of Rancho Palos Verdes
hereby resolves as follows:
Section 1: The City Council has f ou nd that
landscaping maintenance of certain areas within the City is
necessary to preserve the environment and aesthetic beauty of the
City and is in the general public interest, and therefore, pur-
suant to the provisions of the Landscaping and Lighting Act of
1972 (Part II of Division 15 of the California Streets and High-
ways Code) has formed a Landscaping Maintenance Assessment Dis-
trict and declares is intention to levy and collect assessments
pursuant to said Landscaping and Lighting Act of 1972. The
specific improvements therefore are described in Exhibit A on
file in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Rancho Palos
Verdes and incorporated herein by this reference.
Section 2: The assessment district to be benefited
by said improvements to be assessed to pay the costs and expenses
thereof is known as "Landscape and Open Space Maintenance Dis-
trict No. 2" and is comprised of the area within Tract Map No.
31617 , as more particularly described in Exhibit B, on file in
the office of the City Clerk of the City of Rancho Palos Verdes
and incorporated herein by this reference.
Section 3: The City Council did heretofore adopt
its Resolution No. 89-51 ordering preparation of the Engineer's
Report and filing pursuant to the provisions of the Landscaping
and Lighting Act of 1972. Said report shall be filed in the of-
fice of the City Clerk of the City of Rancho Palos Verdes, and
reference is hereby made to said report for a full and detailed
description of the improvements, the boundaries of the assessment
district and any zones therein, and the proposed assessments upon
assessable lots and parcels of land with the district.
Section 4: The City Council hereby gives notice
that on July 5, at 7:30 P.M. in the Council Chambers, Hesse Park
Community Center, 29301 Hawthorne Boulevard, Rancho Palos Verdes,
California, a hearing by the City Council will be held on the
levy of the proposed assessment in connection with Landscape and
Open Space Maintenance District No. 2.
Section 5: The City Clerk shall give notice of the
aforesaid time and date of hearing by causing this Resolution of
Intention to be published, posted and mailed pursuant to the
provisions of the Landscape and Lighting Act of 1972, and in par-
ticular as provided in Sections 22552 through 22557, inclusive,
thereof*
