CC RES 1991-056RESOLUTION NO. 91 -56
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
RANCHO PALOS VERDES ESTABLISHING AND MEMORIALIZING
THE CITY MANAGER'S COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
WHEREAS, Paul D. Bussey was appointed City Manager of
the City of Rancho Palos Verdes on June 18, 1990, and
WHEREAS, the City Council, from time to time, conducts a
review of the City Manager's performance, and
WHEREAS, such a review took place on July 2, 1991 and
the City Council was fully satisfied with the performance of
the City Manager, and
WHEREAS, due to the City's current limited financial
resources, the City Manager and the City Council agree that a
salary adjustment would not be in the City's best interests
at this time, and
WHEREAS, it is nevertheless appropriate to recognize the
City Manager's performance in some manner as well as to
memorialize the City Manager's existing salary and benefits:
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Manager's
salary and benefits shall be as follows:
1. The current housing allowance provided to the City
Manager shall be eliminated and added to the City Manager's
current salary for a total salary of $85,000 per year.
2. The City Manager shall be entitled to receive credit
for 15 days vacation per year to be accrued on the same basis
as other City employees.
3. The City shall provide the City Manager with a City
owned vehicle for his use. The City shall provide all costs
and expenses in connection with the use and operation of said
vehicle.
4. The City Manager shall receive all other benefits
not inconsistent with this resolution which are provided to
Management Employees as described in Resolution No. 91 -48 as
such resolution now exists or may be amended or replaced in
the future.
5. The City shall pay the City Manager's contribution
to the Public Employees Retirement System,
6. The City Manager shall receive such life, health,
and other insurance benefits on the same basis as provided
other employees of the City.
7. In addition to the above, in recognition of the City
Manager's performance and in lieu of any other increase in
salary or benefits, an increase of $10,000 in the "Adjusted
Purchase Price" (as defined in the Secured Promissory Note
dated October 30, 1990), to $520,000, shall be made. The net
effect of this action shall entitle the City Manager to the
first $10,000 in appreciation of the property, without any
equity share with the City, and shall increase his equity
share in the "net appreciation" of the property by
approximately 0.94 %, to approximately 51.92 %.
8, The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to
execute the attached "Note Modification Agreement" to amend
Section 3.a.iii to read: "Adjusted Purchase Price" shall mean
the sum of (a) $ plus (b) the aggregate costs of all
Initial Work..."
