A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
RANCHO PALOS VERDES ADOPTING CERTAIN SALARY
RANGES FOR REGULAR FULL -TIME AND PART -TIME
EMPLOYEES FOR FISCAL YEAR 1991 -92
WHEREAS, in 1990, the City of Rancho Palos Verdes
retained a consultant to conduct an employee salary survey
the results of which were approved by City Council, thereby
establishing salary ranges for full time and part time
employees; and
WHEREAS, on June 5, 1991, the City Council adopted
Resolution 90 -33 containing funds for the 1991 -92 Fiscal
Year budget which included 'a contingency for personnel
salary adjustments.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO
PALOS VERDES DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The salary ranges of all regular full -time
and part -time City employees are established as set forth in
Exhibit "A" attached hereto.
SECTION 2. The City Manager is authorized to award
salary step increases to those employees who have been
certified by their department directors to be an employee in
good standing and receiving at least an overall satisfactory
rating in fulfilling the responsibilities outlined in their
job description. Increases shall not exceed the top step for
any individual classification.
SECTION 3. For new hires, the City will continue to
pay the employee's share of the contribution to PERS for
regular full -time and part -time employees per the following
schedule:
(a) At the beginning of an employee's second year
of continuous employment, the City will pay 2% of
the employee's contribution to PERS.
(b) At the beginning of an employee's third year
of continuous employment, the City will pay 4% of the
employee's contribution to PERS.
(c) At the beginning of an employee's fourth year
of continuous employment, the City will pay 7% of the
employee's contribution to PERS.
SECTION 4. The Finance Department is authorized to
distribute the $60,000 General Fund contingency for FY 91 -92
to the personal services accounts of General Fund departments
as deemed appropriate.
SECTION 5. Resolutions No. 90 -80, 90 -91, and 91 -13 are
hereby repealed.
