A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF RANCHO PALOS VERDES ORDERING VACATION OF FREE S
SEA RAVEN DRIVE FROM HEROIC TO THE CUL DE SAC
WHEREAS, the Resolution of Intention 90 -58 was adopted,
in the matter of the vacation of the Sea Raven Drive from Heroic
to the Cul De Sac in the City of Rancho Palos Verdes, on July 17,
1990, which resolution established the time and place for the
public hearing on said street vacation; and
WHEREAS, due notice of said hearing has been published
and posted as required by law; and
WHEREAS, the City Council heard all evidence offered by
persons interested in said vacation at hearings on: May 22,
1990, August 7, 1990, November 7, 1990, November 20, 1990 and
February 5, 1991.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO
PALOS VERDES FINDS, DETERMINES AND RESOLVES:
Section 1. That the City Council finds from all the
evidence submitted
(a) That said portion of Sea Raven Drive described in
Resolution of Intention, namely Resolution No. 90 -58 and on At-
tachment "C" was originally intended to be utilized for street
and parkway purposes,
(b) The aforesaid street right -of -ways are unnecessary
for present or prospective vehicular use.
Section 2. The City Council has considered the
General Plan of the City of Rancho Palos Verdes and finds the
vacation to be in conformity with said Plan, specifically;
(a) The road is a truly local road and is not needed
as a thoroughfare in the collector and arterial road network,
(b) Dedication of non - vehicular easements shown on at-
tachment "A" will be maintained.
Section 3. That for the streets in question the an-
ticipated future use and the street right of way is unnecessary
for present or prospective vehicular use.
Section 4. Pursuant to Section 2381 of the streets
and Highways Code of the State of California the City Council
finds and determines the rights of way proposed for abandonment
are not useful as transportation facilities.
Section 5. The City Council therefore orders va-

cated the portion of Sea Raven Drive,
Section 6. That the City Council reserves and ex-
empts from the vacation the easements ''including for pedestrian
purposes and right at any time, or from time to time, to con-
struct, maintain, operate, replace, remove, and renew sanitary
sewers and storm drains and appurtenant structures in, upon, over
and across street rights -of -way proposed to be vacated and, pur-
suant to any existing franchise or renewals thereof, or other-
wise, to construct, maintain, operate, replace, remove, renew and
enlarge lines of pipe, conduits, cables, wires and other con-
venient structures, equipment and fixtures for the operation of
gas, telephone, electrical, water trails, and telegraphic lines,
in, upon, and over street rights -of -way proposed to be vacated.
Section 7. The- proposed vacation shall be subject
to the conditions of approval in Attachment B.
Section 8. The adjacent property owners shall
agreed in writing to the conditions in Attachment B of this
Resolution within 30 days.
Section 9. The City Clerk is hereby ordered to
cause a certified copy of this Resolution, attested by the City
Clerk under the Seal of this City, to be recorded in the office
of the County Registrar- Recorder of Los Angeles County,
APPROVED AND ADOPTED THIS 19th day of February 1991,

ATTACHMENT "B"
CONDITION OF VACATION
( Sea Raven Drive)
10 The curb and gutter shall be realigned to form a smooth
transition from Heroic to the remaining part of Sea Raven
Drive,
2. Any drainage structures shall be relocated to the new curb
line.
39 The pavement, curb and gutter in the vacated section of Sea
Raven Drive shall be removed,
4. Utility easements shall be maintained covering any existing
or proposed utility lines.
5. An easement for pedestrian trails and improvements shall be
established within the vacated portion per Attachment A.
6. The easement vacation shall be recorded with the County
Recorder's Office.
7. Any wall, fence or hedge placed in or along any portion of
the vacated portion of Sea Raven Drive must be reviewed by
the Environmental Services Department in accordance with the
City's development code.
8. The subject property owners notify the Director of Public
Works in writing with notarized signatures that they accept
the conditions of approval and deposit with the finance
department funds necessary to satisfy condition #10. These
requirements must be satisfied within 60 days of the adop-
tion of these conditions.
90 In the event one of the subject property owners wishes to`
proceed and the other does not, the Department of Public
works will review available options and present Council with
recommendations and seek direction.
10* If this portion of Sea Raven Drive is vacated, the parties
receiving use of the land shall pay any and all costs as-
sociated with items 1 -9.

LEGAL DESCRIPTION FOR SEA RAVEN VACATION
Beginning at they most Easterly corner of lot 28, Tract No.
26834 in the City of Rancho Palos Verdes, County of Los Angeles,
State of California as per map recorded in Book 691, Page 7, of
Map Recorded in the Office of the County Recorder of said County.
Said point also being the true point of beginning. Thence
Northwesterly along the Northeasterly boundary of said Lot 28 N
52 degrees 51' 14" W a distance of 143.75 feet. Thence N 37 De-
grees 08' 46" E 65.00 feet to a point, which point is the begin-
ning of a curve concave to the east having a radius of 15 feet;
thence Southerly 23.56 feet along said curve. Thence S 52 de-
grees 51' 14" E 139.92 feet to the most Southerly corner of Lot
29 Tract 26834, which point also lies on the Westerly boundary of
Tract 26836.. Thence along said Westerly boundary line S 37 de-
grees 26' 04" W 22.33 feet. Thence S 58 degrees 55' 26" W 29.80
feet to the true point of beginning.
Except therefrom a 10 foot wide pedestrian easement adjacent
to and Northwesterly of the Southeasterly boundary of Tract No.
26834. Also except an easement for pedestrians 10.00 feet wide,
whose centerline is the same as the centerline of Sea ' Raven Drive
as shown on Tract Map No. 26834 in the City of Rancho Palos
Verdes, County of Los Angeles, State of California as per map re-
corded in Book 691, Page 7, of Map Records in the office of
County Recorder of said County.
