RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
RANCHO PALOS VERDES, CALIFORNIA, ADOPTING A
SOURCE REDUCTION AND RECYCLING ELEMENT
WHEREAS, Assembly Bills 939 and 1820 require that each
City in California adopt a Source Reduction and Recycling Ele-
ment; and
WHEREAS, on March 25, 1991, the preliminary draft ele-
ments were distributed to the appropriate State and County
agencies, and adjoining cities in compliance with regulatory re-
quirements; and
WHEREAS, on June 13 , 1991 the preliminary draft ele-
ments were reviewed by the California Integrated Waste Management
Board and comments were received; and
WHEREAS, on June 18, 1991 the preliminary draft ele-
ments were reviewed by the Los Angeles County Solid Waste Manage-
ment Committee /Integrated Waste Management Task Force and com-
ments were received;
WHEREAS, on April 16, 1991, the City Council held a
duly advertised and noticed public hearing on the preliminary
draft elements and opportunity was given to all persons present
to speak; and
WHEREAS, on November 11, 1991, the final draft elements
were reviewed at a meeting of the Los Angeles Solid Waste Manage-
ment Committee /Integrated Waste Management Task Force and com-
ments were received; and
WHEREAS, on December 3, 1991 the City Council held a
duly advertised public hearing on the Final draft elements and
opportunity was given to all persons present to speak; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council
hereby adopts the Final Source Reduction and Recycling Element.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the City Council that said
Final Source Reduction and Recycling Element be delivered to the
Los Angeles County Solid Waste Management Division following
final action on environmental impacts.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED THIS- 7 DAY OF JANUARY,
1992.
