A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF RANCHO PALOS VERDES ADOPTING A NEW
ADMINISTRATIVE STANDBY FEE TO EFFECTUATE
TEMPORARY SHUT -OFF OF REFUSE COLLECTION AND
DISPOSAL SERVICES
WHEREAS, the City of Rancho Palos Verdes has entered into two
agreements for refuse collection and disposal services; and
WHEREAS, amendments to such agreements provide for the
contractor to temporarily shut -off refuse service under certain
conditions; and
WHEREAS, amendments to such agreements provide that a stand -by
charge to cover the administrative costs associated with turning
the service off and back on shall be established by a Resolution of
the City Council; and
WHEREAS, the City Council held a duly noticed Public Hearing
to consider the proposed fee;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO PALOS
VERDES DOES HEREBY FIND, DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: That the proposed fee of $10,00 would be consistent
with the true, average, estimated administrative costs incurred by
the refuse hauler to effectuate the temporary vacancy and is
therefore considered reasonable.
Section 2: That for the foregoing reasons the City Council of
the City of Rancho Palos Verdes hereby approves a new
administrative fee of $10.00 for the administrative costs
associated with turning the refuse collection service off and back
on.
Section 3: That the administrative fee will become effective
and may be applied when this Resolution becomes effective.
