A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
RANCHO PALOS VERDES AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF
RANCHO PALOS VERDES TO ACCEPT THE CONVEYANCE
OF THE 160 ACRE PROPERTY OWNED BY DIAMOND
BROTHERS THREE PARTNERSHIP WHICH IS GENERALLY
LOCATED NORTH OF FORRESTAL DRIVE IN RANCHO=.
PALOS VERDES.
WHEREAS, the City has entered into an agreement with Diamond Brothers Three
Partnership for the acquisition of 160 acres of property generally located north of Forrestal
Drive in Rancho Palos Verdes;
WHEREAS, the United States Fish and Wildlife Service, the California Department of
Fish and Game, and the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy support the City's
acquisition of said property as these agencies have determined that the property is noted for
its exceptional natural resources including serving as a prime habitat for endangered
species; and
WHEREAS, The total acquisition cost of $7,700,000 is being funded through three
revenue sources: $4,300,000 from the Los Angeles County Regional Park and Open Space
District funds, $3,000,000 from the California Wildlife Conservation Board, and $400,000
from the State Coastal Conservancy.
BE IT, THEREFORE, RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
RANCHO PALOS VERDES:
1. That the City of Rancho Palos Verdes accepts the conveyance, by Grant Deed,
executed by Diamond Brothers Three Partnership, a California limited
partnership, of certain real property located in the City of Rancho Palos Verdes,
County of Los Angeles, state of California, consisting of portions of Lots 69, 70,
90, 91, and 92 of the L.A.C.A., as per map recorded in Book 1, page 1 of the
Assessors Maps, in the office of the County Recorder of Los Angeles County,
California, and more fully described on Exhibit "A" of that certain Agreement For
Purchase and Sale of Real Property, entry into which by the City was approved
by this Council on October 15, 1996.
2. That the Mayor is authorized and directed to execute the Certificate of
Acceptance attached to said Grant Deed.
