CC RES 2005-006RESOLUTION NO. 2005 -06 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO PALOS VERDES APPOINTING A DELEGATE, PRIMARY ALTERNATE AND SECONDARY ALTERNATES TO THE GOVERNING BOARD OF THE SOUTH BAY CITIES COUNCIL OF GOVERNMENTS (A JOINT POWERS AUTHORITY). WHEREAS, the South Bay Cities Council of Governments (a Joint Powers Authority) was established in 1995 pursuant to an agreement approved by the legislative bodies of the respective public entities that constitute its members; and, WHEREAS, the South Bay Cities Council of Governments ( SBCCOG) has a Governing Board which, for all purposes, is the policy making body of the Council; and, WHEREAS, member cities have a delegate and alternate on said Governing Board; and, WHEREAS, the By Laws (Article II — Membership and Representation) of SBCCOG require that said delegate and alternate shall be designated by a resolution of the member cities legislative body; and, WHEREAS, that by action of the City Council taken on December 21, 2005, Mayor Clark was appointed as the City's delegate to the SBCCOG and Mayor Pro Tern Steve Wolowicz was appointed as the City's alternate; and, WHEREAS, it has now become necessary that the City have additional alternates who can attend and vote at SBCCOG Board meetings. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO PALOS VERDES that Council Members Stern, Long and Gardiner will serve as secondary alternates to SBCCOG and that said alternates will have full voting authority in the absence of the City's delegate and primary alternate.
