Tarapaca Storm Drain (Allison) th Recommendation: Review and reconfirm with a 4/5 vote, the City Council’s action on December 21, 2004, to authorize staff to conduct an informalbid process to repair the Tarapaca Storm Drain. REGULAR NEW BUSINESS: 2. City Grant Requests (Petru) Recommendation: Consider City Grant requests from non-profit agencies in the South Bay area. 3. One-Time Capital Improvements to City Park Sites and Facilities and Restoration of an Annual Contribution to the Building Replacement Fund (Allison & McLean) Recommendation: Provide direction to staff regarding funding to: 1) Purchase a portable generator and associated electrical modifications to the buildings at Ladera Linda Park and Fred Hesse Park; 2) Construct a canopy at the entrance to the Community Room at City Hall; 3) Construct shades structures at Eastview 30940 Hawthorne Boulevard / Rancho Palos Verdes, CA 90275-5391 / (310) 544-5208 / Fax (310) 544-5291 www.palosverdes.com/rpv Park and the Ladera Linda Community Center; 4) Replace the bluff top fencing at the Point Vicente Interpretive Center and Abalone Cove Shoreline Park; 5) Repave the parking lots at City Hall; 6) Construct a Trail Link between PVIC and Ocean Front Estates; and, 7) Restore the annual General fund contribution to the Building Replacement Fund. 4. Additional Staff Positions and Workspace Modifications (Allison & Rojas) Recommendation: Consider: 1) Creating a new position of Traffic Engineer in the Public Works Department; 2) Creating a new position of Planning Technician in the Planning, Building and Code Enforcement Department; and 3) Approving a one-time expenditure to reconfigure the workspace in the Building and Safety Division to provide more individual office space and accommodate a slight extension of the public counter. 5. Abalone Cove Sewer System (Allison) Recommendation: Request staff to include a $10,700 subsidy for the FY 06-07 operating budget for the Abalone Cove Sewer System. 6. City Council Budget (Evans) Recommendation: Consider minor budget revisions to reflect current activities of the City Council. 7. Community Outreach Materials (Park) Recommendation: Consider increasing the community outreach program budget.
