ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING
RPV CHANNEL 33 DEDICATION
AUGUST 27, 2005
Mayor Clark called the meeting to order at 10:00 A.M. at the RPV Channel 33 /Multi-
Media Studio at City Hall, 30940 Hawthorne Boulevard, Rancho Palos Verdes, notice
having been given with affidavit thereto on file.
ROLL CALL:
Present: Gardiner, Long, Stern, Wolowicz and Mayor Clark
Absent: None
Also present was Assistant City Manager /City Clerk Carolynn Petru.
FLAG SALUTE:
The salute to the flag was led by Councilman Gardiner.
APPROVAL OF AGENDA:
Councilman Stern moved, seconded by Councilman Gardiner, to approve the agenda
with Public Comments considered before the Ceremonial items. There being no
objection, Mayor Clark so ordered.
PUBLIC COMMENTS:
None.
CEREMONIAL:
Mayor's Welcome and Introduction
Each member of the City Council made introductory remarks about the genesis of the
RPV Channel 33, the creation of the Multi -Media Studio in partnership with Palos
Verdes on the Net, and the future potential of both the educational access cable
channel and the studio to provide information to the community and educational
opportunities for local students interested in learning about television production.
Presentation of Proclamations
Mayor Clark presented proclamations to Gabriella Holt and Ted Vegvari.
The Mayor and Council thanked Ms. Holt and Mr. Vegvari for their hard work, dedication
and many contributions towards making the RPV Channel 33 a reality.
Recognition of Technical Staff
Mayor Clark asked that each of the student interns working in the Studio come to the
microphone and introduce themselves to the viewing audience. The following student
interns were introduced:

Max Kim
Ari Grabb
Daniel Burkhalter
Michelle Auyong
Christopher Jensen
Antonio Guerrero
Leonora Moran
Remarks by Mayor and City Council
Each member of the City Council made closing remarks regarding the City's new
educational access channel and multi -media studio.
Mayor Clark moved, seconded by Mayor Pro Tern Wolowicz, to appoint Councilman
Stern and Councilman Gardiner to a Council subcommittee to explore with the Palos
Verdes Peninsula Unified School District and the principals of the two high schools the
possibility of creating of course curriculum related to student internship opportunities at
the City's Multi -Media Studio. The motion passed without objection.
Mayor Clark suggested that the City look into allowing local businesses with the
opportunity to provide sponsorships for the City's new cable television station.
Gardiner indicated that the Council Cable Television Subcommittee was considering
this idea, but clarified that the term "sponsorship" meant that supporters could be given
on- screen credit for their contributions, but that there would not be paid advertisements
allowed on the channel.
Mayor Pro Tern Wolowicz encouraged the local business community to involved in the
further development and success of RPV Channel 33.
ADJOURNMENT:
Mayor Clark invited the viewing public to join the City Council at Trump National Golf
Course later that day for the dedication of Founders Park, which would include a

ceremony honoring those who were instrumental in the incorporation of the City of
Rancho Palos Verdes.
Councilman Stern moved, seconded by Mayor pro tem Wolowicz, to adjourn the
meeting to 1:30 P.M. on Saturday, August 27, 2005 at Founders Park adjacent to
Trump National Golf Course, One Ocean Trails Drive.
Mayor Clark declared the meeting adjourned at 11:43 A.M.
