Approval of the Minutes (Morreale) Recommendation: Approve the Minutes of the April 20, 2010 Regular Meeting, and the April 24, 2010 Adjourned Regular Meeting. 3. Appeal of the Marymount College Facilities Expansion Project (Case No. ZON2003-00317) / 30800 Palos Verdes Drive East (Mihranian) Recommendation: 1) ADOPT RESOLUTION NO. 2010-__, A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO PALOS VERDES, CERTIFYING THE PROJECT’S ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT REPORT, INCLUDING APPENDICES A AND D, PURSUANT TO THE CALIFORNIA ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY ACT WITH A MITIGATION MONITORING AND REPORTING PROGRAM AND A STATEMENT OF OVERRIDING CONSIDERATIONS; and, 2) ADOPT RESOLUTION NO. 2010-__, A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO PALOS VERDES, UPHOLDING THE PLANNING COMMISSION’S CONDITIONAL APPROVAL OF THE PROPOSED EXPANSION PROJECT WITH THE FOLLOWING MODIFICATIONS: A) REDUCE THE HEIGHT OF THE PROPOSED ATHLETIC BUILDING A TOTAL OF 10-FEET AND REQUIRE LANDSCAPING, CONSISTING OF PRESERVED AND REPLANTED EXISTING MATURE TREES ON THE SOUTHERN SLOPE, TO HELP SCREEN THE ATHLETIC BUILDING AND THE ADJACENT RETAINING WALL THAT SUPPORTS THE FIRE ACCESS LANE; B) REQUIRE THAT INCOMING STUDENTS TAKE A DRIVER TRAINING COURSE REGARDING LOCAL ROADWAY CONDITIONS; C) IDENTIFY ALTERNATIVE NO. Palos Verdes Nature Preserve Nighttime Use (Odom) (45 mins) Recommendation: Approve nighttime use of the Palos Verdes Nature Preserve for hikers subject to regulations detailed in this report. 11. 2010 Salary Survey (Mausser) (15 mins) Recommendation: Direct staff to adjust the salary ranges for all affected classified and management positions to the level established by previous Council resolution in order to maintain the City’s desired market position to attract and retain employees. 12. Floor Area Ratios (Long) (15 mins) Recommendation: Consider instruction to staff to study the imposition of a “floor area ratio” (FAR) limitation for residential and nonresidential zones in the City. 13. View Restoration Height Variation Permits (Long) (15 mins) Recommendation: Consider beginning the process of amending the View Ordinance.
