I. Support of Senate Bill 659 (Padilla) to Extend the Dissolution Date of
Redevelopment Agencies from February 1, 2012 to April 15, 2012 (McLean)
Recommendation:
Authorize the Mayor to sign a letter supporting SB 659 and
direct staff to transmit that letter to Senators Padilla and Wright.

Recommendation:
Mayor Pro Tem Campbell recommends directing the City
Manager to include in the regular City Manager Administrative Report any

period between the City Manager and current City Council Members. The
memorandum could simply state the topic and the Council Member(s) with

L. Ascertain the Current Amount of the City’s Unfunded Pension Liability
(Campbell)
Recommendation:
Mayor Pro Tem Campbell recommends adding to the
Finance Advisory Committee’s Work Plan that the Finance Advisory Committee
(FAC) study the alternatives that are available for the City to accurately
ascertain the CalPERS Unfunded Pension Liability owed by the City of Rancho
Palos Verdes, as other California General Law cities have successfully done,
and report its finding(s) to the City Council within 90 days. (No Written Report

M. Conduct a Confidential Employee Workplace Satisfaction Survey of Current
and Former City Employees (Campbell)
Recommendation:
Mayor Pro Tem Campbell recommends establishing a
Council Subcommittee which will review at least three companies that conduct
Confidential Surveys of Municipal Employees and bring back a report to the
City Council as to which Consultant it recommends to be engaged at the next
