ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING
RANCHO PALOS VERDES CITY COUNCIL
MAY 10, 2011
The meeting was called to order at 6:05 P.M. by Mayor Pro Tem Misetich on the Hesse
Park Ball Field located at Fred Hesse Community Park, 29301 Hawthorne Boulevard,
Rancho Palos Verdes, notice having been given with affidavit thereto on file.
City Council roll call was answered as follows:
PRESENT: Campbell, Stern, Wolowicz, and Mayor Pro Tem Misetich
ABSENT: Long* (absent/excused)
*Mayor Long arrived at 6:26 P.M., after the conclusion of the event.
Also present were Carolynn Lehr, City Manager; Carol Lynch, City Attorney; Carolynn
Petru, Deputy City Manager; Ray Holland, Director of Public Works; Tom Odom,
Director of Recreation and Parks; Joel Rojas, Community Development Director; Eric
Mausser, Human Resources Manager; Emilio Blanco, Maintenance Superintendent;
Nancie Silver, Recreation Program Supervisor II; Mona Dill, Recreation Program
Supervisor II; Christopher Rieger, Recreation Leader; and Carla Morreale, City Clerk.
Also present were RPV TV Station Manager Mark Doddy and RPV TV News Reporter
Maria Serrao.
APPROVAL OF AGENDA:
Without objection, the agenda was approved as presented.
PUBLIC COMMENTS:
None.
REGULAR NEW BUSINESS:
Ribbon Cutting Ceremony of Renovated Hesse Park Ball Field
City Council, staff, and members of the public met at the Hesse Park Ball Field to
conduct a ribbon cutting ceremony for the newly renovated ball field. Mayor Pro Tem
Misetich and the Council Members performed the ribbon cutting ceremony and
celebrated the opening of the fields for multiple uses including girl's softball, baseball, T-
ball, Little League, Pony League, adult softball, soccer, and drop-in use. Mayor Pro
Tem Misetich and the Council extended congratulations to Public Works Director
Holland, Recreation and Parks Director Odom, Maintenance Superintendent Blanco and
the many City staff members involved in this renovation project.
Young members of the public present representing softball, volleyball and soccer
groups offered their congratulations in a celebratory cheer.
Councilman Wolowicz pitched the first ball to Mayor Pro Tem Misetich, while
Councilman Stern served as the umpire. After Mayor Pro Tem Misetich landed on first
base, Councilman Campbell got up to the batter's plate and proceeded onto first base.
