CC RES 2008-013 RESOLUTION NO. 2008- 13 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO PALOS VERDES ACCEPTING THE RE-ALLOCATION OF MAINTENANCE AND SERVICING FUNDS GENERATED BY THE SAFE NEIGHBORHOOD PARKS PROPOSITION OF 1992 AND 1996 FROM THE CITY OF ROLLING HILLS TO THE CITY OF RANCHO PALOS VERDES. WHEREAS, Los Angeles Taxpayers approved Proposition A of 1992 and 1996, which provides funds to incorporated cities of Los Angeles County to acquire, develop, improve or restore real property for parks and recreation purposes; and WHEREAS, Proposition A of 1992 and 1996 provides maintenance and servicing funds to eligible agencies to offset the increased maintenance costs resulting from Proposition funded projects; and WHEREAS, the City of Rolling Hills transferred its 1996 Proposition A Per Parcel Discretionary Grant funds to the City of Rancho Palos Verdes on September 11, 2000 for the purpose of the expansion of Point Vicente Interpretive Center; and WHEREAS, the City of Rolling Hills, through its transfer of 1996 Proposition A Per Parcel Discretionary funds to the City of Rancho Palos Verdes, is unable to utilize the maintenance and servicing funds under the guidelines of the Proposition; and WHEREAS, the City of Rancho Palos Verdes has communicated a willingness to accept the City of Rolling Hills' annual Maintenance and Servicing funds allocation estimated to be $3,000 per annum, starting January 1, 2008 through Fiscal year 2019, a one-third (1/3) of the allocation, to offset increased costs resulting from Proposition A funded projects. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO PALOS VERDES: Section 1: The City Council of the City of Rancho Palos Verdes hereby finds and determines that the recitals contained hereinabove are true and correct. Section 2: The City Council of the City of Rancho Palos Verdes hereby requests Los Angeles County to transfer one-third (1/3) of the City of Rolling Hills' annual Maintenance and Servicing allocation estimated at $3,000 per annum, starting January 1, 2008 through Fiscal Year 2019, to RPV's M & S funds as authorized by the approved and adopted Rolling Hills' Resolution No. 1030. Section 3: The City of Rolling Hills will not receive any money, property, services or other reimbursement for assigning its allocation to the City of Rancho Palos Verdes. Section 4: The City Clerk of the City of Rancho Palos Verdes is directed to c submit a copy of this Resolution to the Los Angeles County Regional Park and Open Space District, 510 South Vermont Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90020-1975. Section 5: The City Clerk of the City of Rancho Palos Verdes shall certify to the passage of this Resolution, and thereupon and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
