CC RES 1979-074 RESOLUTION NO. 79-74 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO PALOS VERDES AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 77-69 WHICH ESTABLISHED VARIOUS EMPLOYEE RULES, REGULATIONS AND BENEFITS WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Rancho Palos Verdes Hereby Resolves as Follows: Section 1. Part C, "Holidays," of Resolution 77.69 shall be amended to read as follows: C. Holidays: The holidays to be observed in this City are as follows: New Year's Day Memorial Day Independence Day Labor Day Veteran's Day Thanksgiving Day Friday after Thanksgiving Day Christmas Day The City Hall shall be closed for business for the period between 12:00 noon on Christmas Eve until the day after New Year's day. All normal work days during this period shall be recognized as holidays for the regular full-time employees. Regular full-time employees of the City shall not be required to work on a holiday, except as noted above or unless the employees services are required in the interest of the public health, safety, or general welfare, in which latter event any such employee shall be entitled to compensatory time off (at such time as in the discretion of the department head his/her services are not needed and required) . When a holiday falls on a Sunday, the following Monday shall be observed. When a holiday falls on a Saturday, the preceeding Friday shall be observed. If a holiday falls on an employee's regularly scheduled time off, compensatory time off should be granted. Section 2. Part D "Insurance Coverage," of Resolution 77-69 shall be amended to read as follows: D. Insurance Coverage for regular full-time employees: The City shall provide insurance and pay premiums as follows: (a) Health and Major Medical Insurance for the employee. City to pay premium. (b) Health and Major Medical Insurance for the employee's dependents. City to pay one-half (1/2) of the premium. . (c) Life insurance in the amount of $10,000 for all Staff and Professional employees. City to pay premium. (d) Life insurance in the amount of one and one-half (1-1/2) the yearly salary to the nearest $1,000 for all Manage- ment employees. City to pay premiums. (e) Dental Insurance for the employee. City to pay a maximum of ten dollars 010.00) per month premium. (f) Public Employees Retirement. System plan now in effect to be revised to include the 1959 Survivor Benefit. City to pay employer's premium share. Section 3. Add Part F. The City to investigate the feasibility of offering additional life insurance coverage to all full-time employees with the additional premiums being paid by the employee.
