A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
RANCHO PALOS VERDES ADOPTING CERTAIN BENEFIT
CHANGES FOR AUTHORIZED PERMANENT FULL-TIME AND
PERMANENT PART-TIME EMPLOYEES
WHEREAS, the City of Rancho Palos Verdes desires to implement certain
benefit changes for authorized permanent full-time, and permanent part-time City
personnel,
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO PALOS VERDES
HEREBY FINDS, DETERMINES, RESOLVES AND ORDERS AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: The authorized permanent full-time and authorized
permanent part-time City personnel's vacation schedule is hereby established
as set forth in Exhibit "A" attached hereto. This attached schedule shall
repeal all previously adopted resolution and/or Council actions regarding
vacation schedules including, but not limited to Council action of December 13,
1982.
Section 2: The authorized permanent full-time City personnel's one
half Wellness Day program is hereby established as set forth in Exhibit "A"
attached hereto.
Section 3: (1) The authorized permanent full-time City personnel's
schedule and percentage amount of Public Employee's Retirement System (PERS)
contributions are hereby established as set forth in Exhibit "A" attached here-
to. (2) This action shall repeal all previous adopted resolutions and/or
Council actions including but not limited to:
(a) Resolution No. 80-62 Section 1
(b) Resolution No. 81-79 Section 1
(c) Resolution No. 82-81 Section 2
Section 5: The above policies shall become effective October 1, 1984.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED September 18, 1984 by the following
roll call vote:
AYES: McTAGGART, HINCHLIFFE, HUGHES, AND MAYOR BACHARACH
NOES: NONE
ABSENT: RYAN

BENEFIT CHANGES
Schedule of Vacation Benefits
Effective October 1, 1984
beginning of 1st year - 2 years 10 vacation days
beginning of 3rd year - 5 years 12 vacation days
beginning of 6th year -15 years 15 vacation days
beginning of 16th year-20 years 1 additional day
for each year of
service to maximum
of 20 days.
Years of service will be based on full-time employment with the City.
Wellness Leave
Effective October 15, 1984
All permanent full-time employees with sick leave benefits shall receive four
(4) hours of wellness leave when their attendance records show no sick leave,
unexcused absences, or leave without pay during the designated 10 week
periods.
The calendar year will be broken down into five (5) ten (10) week periods
(excluding week prior to and following Christmas)
Wellness leave must be used within the next 20 consecutive week period and
cannot be accrued beyond that time. Accumulated wellness leave will not be
compensated for upon termination.

EMPLOYER PAID EMPLOYEE CONSTRIBUTION TO
PUBLIC EMPLOYEES RETIREMENT SYSTEM
The City will pay permanent full-time employees share of PERS contributions
per the following schedule:
(a) At the beginning of the employee's third consecutive year of employment
from permanent full-time hire date, the City will pay 2% of the employee's
contribution to PERS.
(b) At the beginning of the employee's fourth consecutive year of employment
from permanent full-time per hire date, the City will pay 4% of the
employee's contribution to PERS.
(c) At the beginning of the employee's fifth consecutive year of employment
from permanent full-time per hire date, the City will pay 7% of the
employee's contribution to PERS.
Part-time employees currently under PERS will be allowed to keep their
current status.
