Justification The construction plans call for a concrete housekeeping pad under the switchgear. The pad and switchgear required inspection and approval by Southern California Edison (SCE) prior to SCE releasing their crew to perform the new electrical service installation. Upon first inspection, the SCE inspector did not express any objections related to the pad. However, on a subsequent visit to inspect other items, he noted verbally that the pad would need to be extended in front of the switchgear to provide the clear and level working space in front of the equipment. It was previously understood that the slab floor of the utility yard itself provided the clear and level working space. In order to not delay the installation of permanent power by SCE, AMG proceeded to extend the pad on a time and material basis. Cost Analysis Griffin Structures reviewed the proposal scope and pricing. Reference the attached pricing analysis. Schedule Analysis No time extension was requested by the contractor, and work is expected to be completed within the original construction timeframe.
