BACKGROUND AND DISCUSSION:
On November 27, 2017, recruitment began for one seat of the Finance Advisory
Committee due to a special vacancy, with an unexpired term of office ending in
December 2020. The recruitment was advertised and posted according to City Council
Policy No. 6.
At the conclusion of the recruitment, the City received a total of ten (10) applications
from residents interested in serving on the Finance Advisory Committee. The City
Council conducted interviews of the candidates on the following evenings prior to the
regular City Council meetings: February 20, 2018 (Special Meeting) and March 6, 2018
(Adjourned Regular Meeting).
Listed below are the applicants that the City Council interviewed. Please note that, on
February 9, 2018, Matthew Vitalich withdrew his name for consideration, and on
February 13, 2018, applicants Tae-Yoon Kim and Naresh Nakra withdrew their names
for consideration. Staff will distribute ballots listing the remaining candidates so that the
City Council can appoint members at the City Council meeting. In compliance with the
Brown Act, the City Clerk will read each Council Member's ballot into the record at the
meeting.
