BACKGROUND AND DISCUSSION:
On October 17, 2017, after interviewing four candidates for a special vacancy that had
occurred on the Emergency Preparedness Committee (EPC), City Council appointed
Larry Maizlish to serve on the Committee.
On October 18, 2017, Staff was informed of an additional special vacancy on the EPC.
In light of this occurrence happening so soon after the recent EPC interviews, Staff
respectfully suggests that the City Council consider one of the remaining three
candidates to fill this vacant position.
Staff has prepared and will distribute a ballot listing all candidates for the EPC at
tonight's City Council meeting.
