NEW PRISONER MAINTENANCE RATES
FOR FISCAL YEAR 2015-16
Enclosed is a copy of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department's (Department)
Daily Prisoner Maintenance Rates Sheet for housing municipal code violators pursuant
to California Government Code (GC) Section 36903. These rates were established by
the Los Angeles County Auditor-Controller's Office, and are effective as of July 1, 2015.
These rates will be reflected on all invoices generated for services provided during
Fiscal Year 2015-16. The rates vary by jail facility, and there is a one-time booking fee
of $366.56 assessed for each municipal code violator booked into the Inmate Reception
Center or Century Regional Detention Facility.
Please note that per GC 36903, cities are responsible for the cost of maintaining
prisoners held in the Department's custody solely for city municipal code violations or a
warrant stemming from a city municipal code violation. The maintenance of a prisoner
may require additional expense for hospitalization. Please ensure that you have
budgeted appropriately for these costs.
