RECOMMENDATION:
That your Board adopt the enclosed Resolution declaring a
certain street to be no longer part of the County System of
Highways .
On June 5, 1990, Synopsis 41, your Board declared Crenshaw
Boulevard within the listed Cities to be a part of the County
System of Highways . This action was taken for the purpose of
synchronizing the traffic signals and performing appurtenant work
along Crenshaw Boulevard.

These Cities consented to the County taking jurisdiction as
required under the provisions of the Streets and Highways Code .

The County' s jurisdiction on Crenshaw Boulevard within the Cities
of Gardena and Hawthorne was relinquished on April 25, 1995 (Board
Synopsis 38) , at the request of the City of Hawthorne. The traffic
signal synchronization has been completed in the remaining Cities
of Lomita, Rancho Palos Verdes, Rolling Hills Estates and Torrance,
and it is necessary that the County relinquish jurisdiction over
those portions of the street .
Upon the adoption of this Resolution, please transmit one certified
copy to the City Clerks of the Cities of Gardena, Hawthorne,
Lomita, Rancho Palos Verdes, Rolling Hills Estates and Torrance,
and one copy to the Department of Public Works .

IN VARIOUS CITIES NO LONGER
2 TO BE A PART OF THE COUNTY SYSTEM OF HIGHWAYS

4 WHEREAS, by Resolution heretofore adopted, the portion of
5 Crenshaw Boulevard from 120th Street to Crestridge Road within
6 the Cities of Gardena, Hawthorne, Lomita, Rancho Palos Verdes,
7 Rolling Hills Estates and Torrance, County of Los Angeles, State
8 of California, has been declared by the Board of Supervisors of
9 said County to be a part of the System of Highways pursuant to
10 the provisions of Sections 1700 to 1704 , inclusive, of the
11 Streets and Highways Code of the State of California for certain
12 purposes; and
13 WHEREAS, with the exception of the portion of Crenshaw
14 Boulevard within the Cities of Gardena and Hawthorne which was
15 relinquished by your Board on April 25, 1995, such purposes have
16 now been accomplished.
17 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors
18 of the County of Los Angeles, State of California, that the
19 following named street within the Cities listed is hereby
20 declared not to be a part of the County System of Highways of
21 said County and that this Resolution will become effective ten
22 days after filing with the City Clerks of the Cities of Lomita,
23 Rancho Palos Verdes, Rolling Hills Estates, and Torrance .
