A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF
RANCHO PALOS VERDES APPROVING EXTREME SLOPE
PERMIT NO. 5 FOR AN EXISTING DECK AT 26441
SILVER SPUR ROAD.
WHEREAS , Roger and Mori West have requested an Extreme Slope
Permit for an existing deck which encroaches 6 feet into an area
of extreme slope at the rear of the subject property ; and
WHEREAS , after notice issued pursuant to the provision of the
Rancho Palos Verdes Development Code , a public hearing was held on
May 10, 1988 at which time all interested parties were given an
opportunity to be heard and present evidence ;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF RANCHO
PALOS VERDES DOES HEREBY FIND , DETERMINE AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1 : That the site cannot reasonably accommodate the
structure in another location not involving an extreme slope since
the subject property has limited level yard space available for
outdoor entertaining.
Section 2 : That the structure will not cause any significant
adverse effect on neighboring properties since the deck is of a
color that blends with the slope , does not impair any primary
views of surrounding properties and does not contribute to slope
instability or increase runoff.
Section 3 : That approval of the deck is not contrary to the
policies of the General Plan .
Section 4 : That for the foregoing reasons , the Planning
Commission of the City of Rancho Palos Verdes hereby approves
Extreme Slope Permit No . 5 subject to the conditions of approval
attached in Exhibit "A" .
PASSED , APPROVED and ADOPTED this 10th day of May, 1988.

EXHIBIT "A"
Extreme Slope Permit No. 5
Conditions of Approval
1 . The landowner shall obtain all necessary building permits for
the existing deck.
2. The landowner shall submit a landscape plan for the area
around the deck subject to the approval of the Director of
Environmental Services prior to the issuance of building
permits .
3. The deck shall be maintained in a color that blends with the
natural landscape subject to the approval of the Director of
Environmental Services .
